Why not do it in a way that works for everyone? Make a new mold for a guy people want, like Brawn, then repaint it into Offroad Bumblebee with a new head. BAM! We get our G1 guys (or RID, BW, AEC, whatever floats your boat) and there's BBs galore.

I think I'd still love a Bumble-Tank and other ridiculous alt modes for Bumblebee, if that ever happened. It would be too hilarious to pass up.

I seem to have missed the part where you're somehow forced into buying these.

Also recent waves/toylines and the comment on TF3's toyline by Hasbro leads me to believe swathes of Bumblebee's may be a thing of the past sooner rather than later.

Almost bought a Bumblebee custom that used the Generations Thunderwing mold a few months ago, I thought it was a cool idea.

Perhaps I wasn't clear-the point was that we get new guys, Hasbro still gets to give us bumblebee. I wan't saying that we had to buy anything-but it would mean Hasbro could put out Bumblebees and new molds.

((Another thread inspired me to make this one, and i might be a smidge drunk from last night still))

His point is not to make Bumblebee molds at all, and instead make other-character-specific molds then later give them BB heads and deco, since Hasbro sort of think that BB sells itself.

But Hasbro seems to be shying away from Bumblebee en masse. He's notably absent from the FoC line and possibly the FE re-release, and Hasbro made a vague comment about the DotM toyline not doing so hot partly because of recurring characters, all of which imply they DON'T think BB sells itself anymore.

was just an idea so we could get new molds and they can keep up with the BBs, if they still plan on doing so.

I'd buy bumblebee if he was retooled into barricade. (Like that one custom)

Brawn hasn't appeared in a cartoon since technically G2(RiD if you're counting X-Brawn). Which means that most people that buy Transformers don't even know he exists. How could they want him if they don't even know he exists?

But fwiw, I want him too. :<

Hasbro & Takara have already been using the Thread OP's idea for years.

In Armada,Hasbro turned Hotshot into Hotrod by giving him a newer head sculpt & colors.

For Classics,Hasbro Turned the Bumblebee mold into cliffjumper with a newer head sculpt & colors.

In the movie verse,Animated & Prime toy lines. Most bumblebee molds got turned into cliffjumper or hotshot or Wasp or another bot. with newer colors, some a new head sculpt. other times no newer head sculpt.

I'd prefer Hasbro just retire the bumblebee character & toys for a few years. because the bumblebee toy is one of the chief reasons for ruining TF toy lines & assortment waves failing in stores. due to repeative repaints & the toy being over loaded in case assortments waves.

I really hope they have learned that the market can only take so much Bumblebee at once. But then Hasbro over loaded Marvel Universe and the Avengers toy line with loads of Iron Man figures after the Iron Man movie line just sat on shelves. Just a case of I need to see some Bumblebee free shelves before breaking out the champagne to celebrate a break from the yellow bastard.

Even if not-Bumblebee Bumblebees were made, people would still be bitching about it. Hasbro knows what they're doing. Bumblebee sells because people buy them. Period.
