Yeah - the early 90's cast was something exceptionally special... Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Tim Meadows, Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Kevin Nealon, Rob Schneider, Julia Sweeney, David Spade, Norm MacDonald... and that's just off the top of my head. I can't tell you anyone who's been on the show since the mid-90s except Will Ferrell.

For me, it's not a matter of nostalgia. I just haven't laughed since then.

Napoleon Dynamite is awesome! I only know a few people that like that movie. Sometimes, when people ask what I'm going to do today, I say "I'll do whatever I feel like doing...GOSH!!!"They usually respond with either "Huh?" or "Damn, I hate that movie."

I watched about half of ND and didn't care for it. The only part I laughed at was the school bus full of kids seeing the cow get shot.

Damn man, you're like the 3rd person to say that. Hammond gets no love. Hammond pwns Ferrell. The only great loss when Ferrell left was a good W parody and a precipitous drop in the amount of cowbell.

Hammond nailed Gore, Clinton, Cheney, Jesse friggin' Jackson, O'Reilly, Rather, Koppel, Chris Matthews..and like 40 others, including the best recurring character on SNL in at least the 15 years since the early '90s heydey...

I stopped watching when Sandler, Farley, Myers, Carvey, Spade, Hartman, etc left. To me that was the best cast of SNL ever assembled.

I stopped watching SNL shortly after the majority of the "90s Cast" left and when Will Ferrell was starting to get more screen time. While not all of the sketches from the 90s were gold, and the funny ones are definitely those that stick out, the players that departed were consistently funny and their skill often propped up the poor writing. After they left, all that remained were the substandard cast members who couldn't get better gigs and Will Ferrell, who's annoyed the hell out of me since day one.

I forget about characters like that, Hammond was pretty good. Those jeopardy skits were always gold. Norm McDonald was the best in my book, his Burt Reynolds and David Letterman characters were great.
