I just have a question.. If the US gets Headmasters DVD set,, will there be any chance of reconstructing the music to that of G1 S1, S2, S3? I don't have a problem with the japanese tracks but having the american music would be excellent..

I would be happy if they actually released it in North America... period.

Highly unlikely, I'd say. The audio would need to be rerecorded, so the Japanese tracks will be as the original. As for English, there might be a slim chance if a new dub were commissioned, but at the same time, there's all the legalities for getting the original audio as well as the license for the footage potentially stipulating that the original background music must remain.
That, and since it'd be fairly expensive to do for something that'd be a small mover odds are the existing Star TV dub would be used.

I wish one of the R1 Companies that deal mostly in Anime could/would licence the Japanese series. It would be a dream come true to get a new english dub in the US.

I would probably be more excited about this than the upcoming movie, especially if it used the S1-S3 music and voices that were similar to the originals.

Sadly the only way to get it is from Japan, or TV Nihon subs.

Well most R1 companies that deal with Anime have two language tracks, English dub and original Japanese. Hence why I think they'd be perfect for the job.

I wonder what the odds of getting an R1 version are? Probably slim I bet. :(

Not DVD but I have the Headmasters Laserdisk set. No subtitles, no second language. It's why I picked up the UK set.

I've been watching the UK Headmasters set lately (just got it, on disk 3).

The only thing I'd really want them to change for an R1 release would be the subtitles. I dig the use of the Western names, don't get me wrong, but the subs are pretty sloppy, have a lot of spelling errors and lotsa times can't remember whether to use the Western or Japanese names.

"Rebellion of Planet Beast" could use some special attention, as they're going back and forth between Japanese Beastformer names and Western Battle Beast Names. If you're going to call White Leo "Pirate Lion" then you should call Alligatron "Gruesome Gator".

My one irk. The set, for the most part, is beautiful and I'm very glad to have it.
