...and the Ramjet/Thrust/Dirge seekers are called coneheads, do the trio of Bluestreak/Prowl/Smokescreen have a name? Does anyone have name for them? I guess you could say brothers kinda like in RiD, but we already got the twin SS's.

Brothers would work. After all, they're Nissans = nii-san = (older) brother. Yeahhhhhh, bit of a stretch.

They were originally known as the "Fairlady Z" toys, or brothers if you are so inclined. And with the release of the Universe mold and redecos in the form of a Nissan 350Z, I think just "Z" Autobots would work well.

This could go on and on for every reused mold.

    Grapple, Inferno, Artfire, Hauler
Red Alert, Sideswipe, Clamp Down, Deep Cover, Tiger Track
    Ironhide/Ratchet
    Trailbreaker/Hoist

    Etc, etc.

I refer to them as "the Fairlady molds", although that wouldn't be too awfully helpful from a fiction standpoint.

I think of them as the Fairladiess.

Which would sound horrid in a fiction setting.

That's what I refer to them as too. Well the toys anyway.

From a fiction standpoint I don't really think they need a 'group name' since outside of sharing aestetic similarities they really haven't been depicted as a 'team' (in any media I've been aware of anyway. Though I'm admittedly ignorant when it comes to some of the more recent comics). I think ALL the Decepticon jets fall under the Team name 'Seeker', the 'Coneheads' moniker is still just a term thrown around by fans I think. I realize Seekers started out that way too, but it's been pretty much adopted as canon for the fiction by Hasbro at this point since it's been printed on official products.

Just my point of view, like I said I'm not aware of everything that has been released, so someone can definitely step in and correct me if I'm totally off in left field.

If I'm ever thinking of them as a group I tend to refer to them as "the Datsuns." From a fiction standpoint I don't remember any of them ever working particularly closely - if at all - with the each other, whereas the Seekers/Coneheads were a more cohesive force (as far as any group of G1 'Cons can be considered cohesive).

Well I was thinking that since there were more than two in the main line. I'd almost lump jazz in there as well. I don't count Clamp Down, Deep Cover, Tiger Track, Artfire, or Hauler since they werent in the original US line, AFAIK. I can see having a repaint, but since there were at least 3, I think it makes it a little different than the average repaint. Stupid sounding I know.

I don't think Prowl, Bluestreak and Smokescreen have nearly the following of the Seekers. That's probably why the fandom hasn't really come to a consensus on what the hell to "name" them. That and if I remember correctly they never really acted as a team as much as Starscream and his bunch did.

    :lolol

And this makes my sig all the more funny now...
