I think the Alt mode of the toy reflects what he'll have in the movie.

It would be illogical for him to lower himself to taking a human-designed alt-mode.

That, and the toy's a Cybertronian war machine.

I wished he would've at least had a coherent altmode.

    But noooo.

Shockwave has always given off a kind of creepy vibe to me, from his singular eye, to his spindly form in Animated. He's just spooky. And what spookier alt-mode is there, than the Mitsuoka Orochi. It fits with previous automobile Decepticons in being a high-end vehicle, and it is certainly a unique car, and it's been used in Transformers before. I imagined movie Shockwave would be kind of spindly, but when the toy was revealed, that got turned on it's head. The Mitsuoka Orochi unfolding into a weird-ass spindly robot like Prime Starscream would be hella scary.

A half eaten burrito is the only logical choice. With all the dyed tortilla chips these days a purple, discarded burrito would be perfect for spying and not totally out of place.

Given that we didn't see any Earth mode for him at Toy Fair I've got the feeling that he doesn't have an Earth mode in the movie.

If we ever get an Earth mode Shockwave I'm guessing it will have to come from either a Classic style line or Transformers Prime since movie characters only seem to get a change of alt modes when the on screen character gets an alt mode change.

    megatron - earth
    starscream - earth
    soundwave - possibly earth

im going to go say it right now
Shockwave is the leader in DOTM
