Like to see Kurt Russell as Prime, myself. Got a bit of that John Wayne-ishness about his voice, plus the man is just flat out an excellent actor.

Persoanlly I want professional Voice Acters, I am sick and tired of big name actors doing voice over work.

    *slaps forehead*

    D'oh!

How could I have forgotten Mark Hamill?

You're totally right! Mark Hamill would be an EXCELLENT Starscream! Put him with his Joker voice, and that's badassitude right there.

Too bad he's only gonna have 2 lines in the movie...

Mark Hamill would really make a good Starscream. I hope he gets the part, while Cullen and Welker do Prime and Megs.

Mark Hamil is too whiny for me. Yes, Starscream whines like a bitch....a lot....but Mark Hamil doesn't work for me. He isn't dark enough.

How bout Harrison Ford for Optimus Prime? That sounds like a great match to me.

Hugo Weaving for Megs. i am starting that campaign NOW...

Not...not dark enough??? Rent Batman: The Animated Series on DVD and forget everything you knew about Luke Skywalker needing a new set of power converters.

Forget TAS he should rent Return of the Joker.

Joker's voice was FAR from whiny

Although I'm SO used to the AEC Starscream style voice these days :D

If Hamil could pull that off that'd be great :D

I'd like to see David Kaye do Megatron if Welker can't do it and Gary Chalk as Optimus if Peter Cullen. I'd rather stick with Chalk in the movie if Cullen doesn't Va for Optimus rather than get some new guy who is doing Prime for the first time in the Movie. If that happened there could be a chance that Optimus Prime might sound completely horrible.

I liked Neil Kaplan's Prime myself. I hear he also does a great Cullenesque Prime voice that wasn't on the RID show.

Don Murphy posted a statement on his message board recently, saying something to the effect of (i'm paraphrasing here), "I have failed to make [some guy's name] see the wisdom of the old voice actors."

    Seems pretty bleak...

Well to be honest it's not like Don can just MAKE someone see it the same way he does. Whoever this person is that Don's refering to his welcome to his viewpoint.

I've found the quote. The link can be found in the thread about Don Murphy's post. This is a sentence from the post:

"You have Tom Desanto, a terrific guy, who refused to see the wisdom of the voice actors."

When I said it seems bleak, I meant the Cullen/Welker situation, and not a remark on Murphy himself.

No I know what you meant

And Don was speaking about that in the past tense so you misinterpretted.Don't forget our english lessons adding "ed" to an action word places it in the past tense

Listen to this he seemed to be for the idea of Cullen voicing Prime. But that's another thread for another time.

Just didn't want you to be misinformed :)
