Since they heard the complains about Starscream with no hand and they make a new Starscream with hands do you think they heard the other complains and are making a Leader class Blackout.

There's one key difference between the characters:

    Starscream isn't dead.

Why does everyone seem to want leader class versions of characters? I'm not knocking anyone but me personally I don't buy many toys beyond voyager. They just don't appeal to me for size and useless electronics reasons.

I would be happy with a better mold voyager Blackout like we are getting for Starscream. And also Starscream is still alive.

I could go for a Voyager Blackout that fully transformed, instead of wearing half a helicopter on his back.

I honestly don't think we'll be getting any new Blackout toys, let alone a Leader class mold for him. Like Jazz, Frenzy, Bonecrusher, and Brawl/Devs, he is dead. Starscream on the other hand, is still alive, and is supposedly going to play a much larger role in the plot of RotF. So a new Voyager mold that's more accurate, and has his new tattoos, makes perfect sense.

Edit: Actually, I can easily see us getting a new Blackout toy. An Animated Blackout toy that is :D

only reason i'd want a bigger BO would be that i like helicopters a lot and i wouldn't even bother Transforming him.

but we ain't getting what ain't living no more....so
just hope in TF3 we get a Leader Class AH-64 decepticon...sigh.

All future TF should be Legends size. Just think of all the space we'd save when buying figures if they were all that small. :D

Dammit Hasbro - where's my Legends class Unicron? Such a huge being deserves a tiny toy version of him.

This. Either voyager or leader in the animated line. The animated model gives him some more interesting arm guns and swept insectoid helicopter blades.
    -----
The only problem I've had with a movie leader blackout is what kind of compromise you want for the now larger rotor blades. With incinerator you get blades that don't freely spin...sure. But in robot mode you get rotor blades that are strong enough to knock stuff around. Voyager blackout can freely spin but its not as solid a melee weapon. Finally animated leader megatron spins as a unison rivet. But the helicopter blades become weapons to balance the play value.

I wonder if animated megatrons lack of a spinning trigger had something to do with injury lawsuits that mechanism would have at a leader class.

Exactly right. And it figures that Blackout was one of the few Movie character designs I liked and he got a fairly crap toy.

IMO the only way we'd get a new Blackout toy would be from a flashback scene and it would be his Cybertron alt form, not the copter.

The larger a TF helicopter gets, the smaller its rotor gets in proportion to it. This is true even of Animated Leader Megs, the biggest TF chopper there is, but he compensates by having two. I don't know if it's for safety reasons or if the blades simply can't support their own weight if they get too long, but a Leader Blackout would certainly have the puniest rotor ever.
