But Heli's are still pretty fast, pack one helluva punch and are manoeuvrable.

 

I'd have to say this

 

I vote tank. A heavy tank is one of the most formidable forces on the battlefield, and I'd think that the strength and power inherent in that alt-mode would be appealing to Megatron. And for those who think tanks are slow, while they might not have the speed and versatility of rotary-wing or fixed-wing aircraft - the M1A2 tank can move at speeds in excess of 40 mph, stop on a dime and pick it up, and handle corners and rough terrain easily. It handles like a 70-ton Corvette - and yes that's from personal experience.

I like his current alt-mode, but if Megatron elected to choose a terrestrial form for whatever reason - the tank is the way to go.

 

If Megatron ever takes a earth mode it will be because he REALLY REALLY REALLY has to hide since his alient jet is superior to most earth machinery.

So I vote an ice cream truck.

If he had to be a terrestrial vehicle, what about some sort of hover tank? That was his form in War for Cybertron and he currently is kinda-sort-of a big flying alien tank.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind his alt-mode being a more detailed recolored version of Bot Shots Megatron.

I mean come on; he is a tank with a trailer, it’s peanut butter and chocolate.

 

If Megatron does reformat himself he should become a triple changer befitting of Leader of Decepticons.

One mode for air and one for ground allowing him to be the master of all he surveys.

Whichever he chooses should be quite unique, Tanks and Stealth jets are quite common something that makes you gaze is awe is more fitting for Megs. Prototypes are good source material.

 

A sports car! He could lead the vehicons in style!

 

I like his current mode,if he did get an earth mode id like to see a jet or a tank

 

What if Megs becomes a triple changer after asking good old Shocky to give him the ability to have two alternate forms after seeing the effectiveness of Blitz, Astrotrain and Octane back during the war on Cybertron. That way Megatron can have a tank form that accommodates his Fusion gun with out having to sacrifice an awesome jet mode. Infact I wont be surprise if Megatron is already a tripple changer as the WFC had a tank mode

while the earth tank would probally something that hasn't be used in transformers maybe merkva or the cancled black eagle, or something fictionous

 

There is a certain utilitarian genius to a lot of Decepticons becoming flying vehicles.
In robot mode, they have ground combat covered as well as any tank mode.
But in changing into a flying machine they have givin themselves the mobility
boost that could not be gained by a simple added feature in robot mode.
If you think about it all that is tactically gained in a ground vehicle mode could
be accomplished by a pair of powered rollers/wheel feet. Now when it comes
to infiltration cars and SUVs are pretty ubiquitous, more so than any civilian or
military aircraft. So terrestrial alternate forms do have their usefullness and
Knockout and Breakdown use this to their advantage quite well.

I think TF  Megatron would be cheating himself pretty severely if he lost his
current peekaboo-cyberjet alt-mode.
