I think if he were back, TF5 wouldn't suffer that much like it does now. Dark of the Moon and some parts of AOE were really good. Sentinel Prime and Lockdown was fleshed out characters. Not only had they many lines, they were also very interesting. Kruger would have the robots feel more like they have a personality than just random lines in TLK.

I think I would like it more if he wrote. I always think it is a bad idea to get rid of a writer if that writer is trying to create an arc.

as much as i didnt care for rotf as a sequel to tf, i really feel like kruger kinda grew into the role with dotm & aoe & i do believe tlk would have been drastically different had it been helmed by kruger...they pretty much ignored every major plot point of aoe as if it didn't happen & the tone was also very different from films 2-4 & not in a way i personally preferred

unfortunately this film series just can't ever seem to make the right move, it has however mastered making the wrong move at the worst time

We probably would have had a movie that actually felt like a sequel to AOE instead of ignoring half the plot points from AOE. Probably would have had actual Quintessons too.

Probably would've been longer, regardless of quality.

It's because Kruger was writing these movies as sequels. TLK was written to start a cinematic universe.

And ended up a mash up of two or three stories from a room full of monkeys banging on typewriters. At this point, I'd welcome Kruger back.

The writers sure didn't do a good job at executing that.

Also are the only "spin offs" we know of that are in the works the Bee movie and to a lesser extent the Cybertron animated movie? Those don't feel like spin offs to me, just prequels.

I doubt it would have mattered. It's more than obvious at this point that large chunks of the script are getting thrown out during production and filming. Look and how differently the the comic spinoffs and novelizations, which most likely borrowed from the original script treatments, turn out from the final movies. The biggest difference being in Dark of the Moon.

I'm not blaming the writers for what was TLK. It had good elements, and great things that had everyone pumped.

I blame the director, producers and editing.
