If I watch "Cybertron" without "Armada" or "Energon" will I still 'get it'?

I watched about 6 episodes of Armada, 3 of Energon, and couldn't go any further. I enjoyed Galaxy Force regardless.

At the very least, Starscream's character development. I could see some complaints with the overall ending (though not enough to call it garbage or anything).

And now I find out it's Energon that has the combiners...damnit, I was also interested in seeing what was up with them, too. Argh, I'm just gonna suck it up and watch all three all the way through. Fucking Armada, though, so anime-ey, it's painful, ESPECIALLY THE KIDS!

I've tried watching all of those (I'm probably gonna finish up Armada if nothing else because it's likely get better), but hearing Optimus & Megatron being forced into such childish dialogue compare to their work on Beasties/Beast Wars & Beast Machines is gonna take some gettin' used to.

Wasn't Cybertron the show where they always drive races? I like Armada.

The Combiners were basically just three large robots that split up into vehicles every once in a blue moon.

I can understand the hate for Armada and Energon, but Cybertron is better? really?

Okay, I'm only two episodes in and commited to watching it if I can do so without inducing an anuersym, bet so far it's been the same turd as the other two shows. It's all slow stock footage of transforming and barely animated poses. When you can't even sync up a mouthplate something is wrong. The second episode was literally like watching paint dry. Seriously, I mean, that was the plot. Paint the base before the Decepticons find it and ruin all their (8 hours) of hard work.

Quite honestly this whole trilogy was utterly awful. But the Energon and Cybertron toys were pretty sweet.

The first 10 or so episode are quite dull. But after the Speed Race finishes it starts picking up steam.

Go with these and just watch Galaxy Force. It was meant to be a standalone series, why it was made part of the "unicron trilogy" here in the states I'll never know. I watched all Galaxy Force without ever watching an episode of armada or energon. You'll enjoy it.

Cybertron dubs were absolutely horrid though...saw a few episodes when it was airing on cartoon network or whatever and that was enough for me. Just go with Galaxy Force and enjoy it the way it was meant to be.

It was meant to be a sequel to Energon. Then Takara decided to overrule Hasbro and told We've and Gonzo to make it a standalone series.

Hasbro just went with their original plan.

And then Takara officially declared Galaxy Force to be in continuity with Superlink after all. Go figure.

The dub is about the only thing that makes this boring trainwreck of a show bearable. There's actual effort that went into it, unlike the horrid Energon dub.

    So....it's still a stand-alone series.

Takara is weird. They basically also say that every single transformers series is in continuity with each other. Honestly, if Galaxy Force feels like a stand alone series, it's a stand alone series, reguardless of what they say.

IMO, the only boring part of the series is the season-long Speedia saga, which took for fucking EVER. Everything else was pretty interesting. Only problem with the dub is the occasional mismatching voices and a few annoyances.

Biggest problem with Armada was that the american broadcast sucked. It's a great show, especially the second half.
