Damn....talk about beautiful. If I had some disposable income I'd seriously buy me one of these.

Seriously though, what's the story behind these? I know they were part of Takara's "lucky draw" program but, what were the odds of pulling one and how many were made?

How did winners even get these? Did they go out into circulation with other MP Primes and then lucky people got them or was there some kind of drawing?

Thanks to anyone who knows and posts here.

That guy seriously overprices his stuff. Ever wonder why he has so many LDs? They never sell! I remember hearing (if not seeing) him list one, I think it was a gold G1 Rodimus Prime, for $1500 and relisting it for $3500 when it didn't sell.

QFT. Spending $4,000 on a toy is absurd. Lucky Draws and other 'forced' collectibles aren't what this hobby should be about IMO.

If I had $4,000 laying around, I'd buy 400 Classics Mirages and use them to line the US' southern border. I doubt illegal immigrants would even consider messing with an Autobot!

I dunno, I never really liked the whole lucky draw gold/silver paints. Too plain, not worth the cash.

I've seen one in person. It's a work of art, but not worth more than $500.

$4,000 is way to much. I would rather go to Puerto Rico with the family twice.

Agreed! A vacation with the family is more important than toys.

To be honest, if I really wanted a gold MP-01 I'd get a regular one (20th Anniv is easily sourced in the UK), distmantle it and spray it myself.
