If he can revamp this toy why can't Takara.

It's called kitbashing... Some of us happen to want to put our minds to the test.

Isn't that exactly what they did with MP-11?

They'll be casting new molds anyway for the converted/kitbashed parts just to make him resemble someone like Galvatron, and for them to do that on such a large scale, I think it might cost the same or probably be cheaper if they just started from scratch.

    As a kitbash it's great.

As an 'official' Galvatron, it still looks like a modified Energon toy.

MP11 has a different head, different arms, legs, different null rays. different feet. And W/O looking, the stomach sections may be different too.

In short a lot of parts are different.

they do its called a repaint.

After X amount of time the mould needs to be repaired and their comes a point that its just not worth the money since demand shrinks over time due to old stock piling up. So if you have to build a mould they might as well do it for a fresh design

Also the idea that they stop designing toys and just keep remoulding existing designs is lame and retailers just wont stock the same toy with a new hat forever and kids and collectors alike just wont buy it.

I'm not sure kitbashing translates to a mass toy release model.

Because Takara will be giving us an MP Galvatron that looks as close to his on screen appearance as physically possible in a toy. Not a good looking Galvatron with Energon legs.

I'd probably buy that if it was sold as mass retail, though.

Galvatron may be coming. Its not like the Masterpiece line has stopped; Sideswipe, Red Alert, Soundwave + Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble and Frenzy are still on the way!
They haven't even shown signs of slowing down. If anything, Masterpiece has been pumping out figures faster then they used to.
