What would you do? i mean i sort of wish it was on DVD because i can only find 8 episodes of it in English. I know its just G1 with new transitions and narrator but still i would like to see these episodes with these effects because well i just would. Plus i don't even know how many episodes of G2 there are. On TFWIKI it says 52 episodes but i remember somewhere else there were 65? So would you watch G2 if you could or forget about its existence.

If any one knows where to find G2 episodes it would be much appreciated!

Episodes that i have found: MTMTE 1,2,3
    SOS DINOBOTS
    Heavy Metal War
    The Autobot Run
Dinobot Island Part 1, part 2

Honestly, theres no differences between the two shows, other than the "autobot/decepticon symbol scene transitions" have these weird cgi cube movements. They do not hold up to today's standards, and there was no real variety in them.

The only other major difference was the cgi sequences used in the theme songs and I think the commercial buffers, which are the exact same as used in the toy commercials.

You could include them as an extra in a DVD set that shows the differences, but there's no point to me in releasing a completely separate dvd set.

I know there was a G2 version of The Golden Lagoon, if you wanted to add that to your list.

In English. I am sure of it. I'm pretty sure most of season 1 and season 2 was used for G2. I know some season 3 episodes were released on VHS under the "GENERATION 2" banner, but I don't know if those episodes were given the same treatment.

I think Rebirth was released under a G2 VHS but was released with the normal G1 effects and opening. TFwiki says there were a few Season 3 episodes reedited for g2. Also if you have a link to Golden Lagoon or know what website it is on thanks in advance.

I've got the Region 2 DVD with five episodes on. I'll occasionally pop it in the player just because I'm so used to the normal G1 version and sometimes it's fun to see a different official version of it. Usually gives me a headache though with all the spinning and flipping.
However I'd probably still buy them if the whole run (although not all G1 episodes were made into G2 episodes if I remember correctly) was released on DVD just because it's interesting to have a different version of something I've watched hundreds of times.

G2 on DVD would be a complete waste of money. It's the same show as G1.

    Cartoon? No.

If they made 25 animated eps of the 12 Marvel issues direct to DVD? YES!!!
(2 parter for issues 1-11, and 3 parter for issue 12)

I would skip it. They are just modified G1 episodes anyway.

It's on a vhs I have at home, from when I was a kid. Distribution of copywrited materials is against the rules of this site, anyway.

Make the intro and an example of the CG transitions as an extra on a DVD. I have the G1 episodes so I'd never buy a G2 disk of the same eps but with annoying 'enhancements'.

Wasn't the G2 cartoon just a rebroadcast of G1? It seems kinda pointless when they've already released the G1 cartoon on DVD.

The only real fiction we got for G2 was in the comics. There was no cartoon.

There was also an annual released in the UK, with its own continuity. It was pretty bad.

As for the topic - I'd say no to a DVD release, but as an extra? Sure thing. Throw in a few of the commercials with their rockin' CGI at the same time and we'd be all set.

I'm a DVD completist, so I'd probably buy it.
