If Bruticus was in multiplayer, and that includes escalation, what would you want him to be like?

here are a few catagories/guidlines to go by.

    Formation:
Describe how the combaticons would form Bruticus.

    Control:
Describe how Bruticus would be controlled.

    Conditions/Limitations:
Describe the "rules" of being Bruticus.

That's all! Add more if you want!

Having 5 player co-op in multi-player (as Bruticus) probably wouldn't be all that fun, as the only way to make playing as Bruticus fun for all is to incorporate a universal QTE or chained QTE, which doesn't sound all that bad to me, but you wouldn't really be controlling Bruticus, just executing a set of commands, the game's AI would most likely decided who you would be attacking.

I think Bruticus is the real reason why we no longer have co-op campaign play :(

Maybe if a team member gets on a 10 kill streak he can activate it and is the one that gets to control Bruticus.

hmm. didn't think of that. and if that were to happen, everyone would choose Onslaught in hopes that he would control Bruticus

And this is why I said team QTE is the only way for this to truly work and keep everyone happy.

Actually, I think it would be pretty easy..Only ONE of the five could be selected on a team at any point..So..if Onslaught was already chosen by a teammate before the match starts...the other 4 would not be available to be chosen...If Vortex is chosen...the other 4 would not be available...then, it would have to be a killstreak of 10-12 or more, and would only last for about 30 seconds or so...

I think it would have to be a random selection in order for it to be fair, it would suck to play as one of the limbs only to lose control upon combining every time it is performed. All players must submit to combine and all must submit to disengage.

    Formation:
Escalation: There is a special variation of Escalation reserved for the Combaticons, called "Merge for the Kill". Each of the five players is randomly chosen which Combaticon to be. The game begins. Players play Escalation as normal, but they earn Combo points for kills. Combo points are used to combine when all five players have enough. When all five players gain enough, a prompt activates, saying "MERGE FOR THE KILL!" All five players must push the button to combine.

Multiplayer: You are always the torso in the combination. The limbs are not controlled by players, but rather they fly on from off screen. The Gestalt is a killstreak, but it is a cross-class killstreak that can be activated by having a certain level. It is very hard to pull off as you must have a high level and a large number of kills. The catch is, you can't activate any other killstreaks before this if you have Gestalt equipped.

    Control:
Escalation: The Onslaught player controls movement and the back mounted cannons. Swindle and Brawl both have a "kick". If they both happen to press at the same time? MEGA STOMP!
Vortex controls a shield, that can also cut enemies. Blastoff aims the flamethrower.

Multiplayer: You control all the functions of your gestalt just like a regular 'bot.

    Conditions/Limitations:
Escalation: The combination only lasts until Bruticus becomes critically injured. Bruticus has no shielding in this mode, and can't pick up health items, so you can't prolong the combination as long as you want. Also, each time you are split apart, the amount of Combo points you need to combine again increases.

Multiplayer: The gestalt does not gain any extra health when formed. You retain your health level from when you first activated it. You are as armored as any other player. The Gestalt is also a massive target and very slow.

How about you buy the ability to play as him. Bruticus is a weapon and so if you really want to play as him you must save 10,000 - 100, 000 points. Someone may save to do this but survival will be much harder.

Good players can defeat enemies while steadily building points then players must pay to open up beacon that sends for Grimlock or Bruticus.

All right, here's how I think it should be (in escalation, I have no ideas for multiplayer though).

    Formation:
On the character selection screen, first you (and your team) choose combaticons. Then you are presented with two options, one for combineable, one for regular (regular is overall better individually and has both abilities, while the combineable is weaker and has one ability replaced and substituted for the combination ability). There would also be a option for the host to make it so that all four players have to be one of the combaticons. During the actual game of escalation, all four people have to use the combine ability (operated like a regular ability) and bruticus is formed!
(the fifth combaticon comes from out of nowhere)

    Control:
The game randomly chooses who the body is, and the body controls bruticus just like in single player. The other four players control turrets on either one of the arms and legs, since there would be one limb turret left over, they can switch to and from it as they please. After a certain amount of time, the game would choose someone else to become the body, it keeps going until everyone has had their turn, and then bruticus disassembles. The limb players would have four commands on their directional pad, the commands would be simple things (like attack, defend, retreat etc.) so that the limbs can give suggestions to the body on what to do. However, if the limbs think the body is doing a crappy job, the can press a button that would make them cast a vote to end the body player's turn. However, atleast two of the three limb players have to agree that the body is doing a bad job to end that players turn. The game would then choose another player at random (who hasn't gone) to be the body.

I don't really have anything else to add to this. Although, I would like to say that my method would give everyone a good reason to form bruticus and it is also fair to everyone!

    That's all!

My idea, for non escalation, is this. Five player, on the Decepticon side, each have to simultaneously choose to play as the Combaticons. Once someone chooses one of them, anyone who wants to play as one has to choose a different one.

Every Combaticon has the same third reward for their killstreaks. The ability to combine into Bruticus. This, however, can not be kept after dying but can only be activated when every other Combaticon player has the same.

Once combined, Bruticus is controlled by every player. Blastoff gets the gun controls and Vortex gets the block controls. Swindle gets the legs controls but not Brawl. Brawl controls melee. He can can override Blastoff firing but only if an enemy or destructible structure is in close proximity. Onslaught does get to control something. He gets to control where the other players are looking. Swindle can move in one direction but that does not make Bruticus look that way but Onslaught looking that way does not make Bruticus move that way.

Bruticus will disassemble when too many hits to the back is taken. However, its back will have the strength of an overshielded player and the rest is as strong as if it has two overshields. Bruticus cannot use overshields and one energon cube can only replenish some of its health bar. This is all assuming that the health system is the same as the one on WFC, which it seems like it won't be.

Control would be a huge pain but also kind of interesting if they did it the way its described in universe with each mind pulling a different way. Hed be controlled by majority rules, if one guy tries running forward he will walk very slowly. If two try running he will walk faster and so on. If somone tries going forward and one guy tries going back he would stand around confused at what to to.

Same with attacking, if everyone presses punch he will unleash a huge melee with massive damage. If only one or two press it he will lash out with a weak light attack. If some people press punch and some press shoot he lags for a few seconds and then goes with the majority and it doesnt do as much damage.

Coordintion would end up being the key to success and the more you bicker and pull Bruticus in different directions the slower and more ineffectual his attacks. Maybe there can be an option to show what buttons other people are pressing to make it easier to match up.

Like i said this might end up being a very unfun way to do it but it would be very cool to mess around with at least short term.

I would never combine if this were the result. We'd lose more than we gained by combining.

Bruticus should be a perk, a kill streak bonus or a sudden death/last chance bonus--hopefully in the form of a competent individual who is his own entity, designed around the five beings that he composes of. Anyway, as a perk or bonus he could be as powerful as anyone wants him to be, just make sure that there is a timer counting down the remaining time to be Bruticus (or any other combiner). Universal QTE in which all members must hit at the exact same time or sequential is the most fair way to do this, IMHO. While all participants will be choosing attacks based on their chosen QTE (if done as sequential QTE, combo choices could be an option) the game should target enemies closes to the combiner.

As everyone playing a combiner mode of play will want to control the giant, there IS no absolute fair way; however, timed/sequential QTE will involve all participants in a unified effort at the exact same time or sequential, if that's the path taken.

Dudes, who said that you have to be 1 of the combaticons or have 5 players, what should happen I think is this. Its a killstreak for both teams (the autobots just get a generic combiner). You activate the killstreak & your bot just kinda melts away, then a ship flys over the map dropping 5 AI combiners that straight away form bruticus or the generic autobot combiner. Then you take control of that. You also have a timed health bar that goes down continually & also if you get shot at, but it heals you slightly for each kill.

Or who said it should be player controlled, it could be AI controlled & you get the points for what it kills...

The maps are going to have 2 be large open 1s for this but i think they will be.
