Not the same thing as an exclusivity clause.
I'd love for him to stay. He made phenomenal scores for all 5, and while I can't necessarily recall the exact tune of TF5's main theme half the time, it always strikes me as very powerful and beautiful. I don't mind that he's not back for BB, it's a spinoff film anyway, but I think for fluidity of sound and for an epic final sendoff he should return for TF6. I mean I'm not in charge but I'd hope that's what happens.
If Bay leaves, you can make a good soup.
They work together very effectively I agree, but I imagine they can still work effectively apart. Besides, as Aeronath said: there’s no binding contract (that we know of) that means they only work on TF together.
I can agree with this. Usually even lower tier Jablonsky is better than most other composers. If he had been firing on all cylinders for AOE and TLK, he would've easily elevated to the same level as Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, and Michael Giacchino.
The further the movies post-Bay can distance themselves from the movies during-Bay the better we all are.
I love Jablonski. His first three movie scores blew me right the fuck away. But the last two? God almighty is there zero heart or effort in those scores and it shows. The Last Knight's soundtrack was so underwhelming I had to re-listen to the entire thing on youtube just to remember there was music at all.
Time for someone else to have their turn.
Couldn't disagree with you more about AoE's score.
He will return to his hibernation until the day comes that he is summoned again.
The score in AOE was one of the highlights. As for TLK, I could only gravitate to one soundtrack.
If Bay leaves and they don't reboot just yet, keep Jablonsky. Musical continuity among the series is important and he's done terrific work.
If they reboot, I'm all for trying out something new musically. Reinvent the whole thing.
