I think that if Astrotrain was to be in TF4 he should keep his cartoon voice. It would seperate him from the others when he spoke instead of sounding like a distorted voicebox like Soundwave in dotm. Jus my thoughts.

What in the cartoon made him special?

That's the same voice Welker's been using since '84, that was the original intended voice until someone discovered "hey, we can distort this!". His RotF/DotM voice was entirely natural.

I wonder if ROTF Devastator could stand up inside a movie Astrotrain.

Hey, I'm all for having Jack Angel voice him. I'd love to see what sort of enhancements they'd make to it.

And Soundwave doesn't sound like a distorted voicebox in DotM. He sounds like a distorted voicebox in every other version of him...

No, pretty sure he sounded right to me. ;)  He sounded the same as he did in RotF. Which also sounded right. It was a pretty good voice incarnation of him.

And this. What would make his "original voice" stand out?

And this again. Underneath all of that processing is Frank Welker's unedited "Cave of Wonders" voice, the same voice you hear in RotF/DotM.

I dunno; I thought Astrotrain's cartoon voice was pretty generic and unremarkable. So much so that if you blindfolded me and made me listen to his voice, I wouldn't really be able to tell you it was Astrotrain.
