It's not really news, more "What IDW considers Simon's finest work" ... I'm going to throw it in the Comics section.

Yeah, I remember reading that issue and thinking "Oh my god, this is so good, the writer is a genius."

    Then I saw The Fly.

$50 cover price (it's a hardcover). But it's $31 at Amazon, which isn't bad at all.

WTF is Out to Lunch doing in a book with that title? If they wanted a dodgey comedy in there, they could have at least used Prime's Rib instead.

Agreed. The little seen outside of the UK origin of Arcee would have been a far better choice. However, it's good to see "The Wrath of Guardian/Grimlock" in there. I LOVED that story; started the set up for Dinobot Hunt, one of my all time favourites.

Well at least it's not "The best of Chris Saraccini"; that'd be one word long. ;)

I'm personally waiting for "The best of Pat Lee's ghost artists".

If it was a best of, they could simply have bound G2 #1-12 together as a hardback or something... looks more a solid introduction to everything Furman, including some early stuff and lighter stuff he likes alongside the bigger epics.

Should get some more casual fans interested in checking out more (the people who buy huge Spider-Man hardback guides when a film comes out, for instance.) After all, there's a fairly good chance collectors will have this stuff.

Furman and Wildman have mentioned OTL at convention panels, and seem to have a soft spot for it...

Wouldn't really be a "best picks" collection if all of the build up from something like Price of Life had to be in there.

A lot of the old stories had to be told in bitesize form anyway, due both to kids skipping/missing issues and the page counts involved in the UK stuff.

Still, all of us would probably have slightly different favourite story picks.
