Looks like they announced what's going to be available this year.

Half Transformers Animated and half GI Joe

G.I. Joe and the Transformers kick off IDW's FCBD09 promotional comic with three great stories! First up is an 11-page Transformers Animated tale that features a young Optimus Prime in his days at the Autobot Academy. Next is not one, but two great G.I. Joe stories — a six-page story written by the maestro behind-the-series today, and the second written by the maestro behind the series originally! Secrets are revealed and action abounds!

More TFA? Awesome. Hope this is a taster of more to come(though it could be a leftover from a canceled comic).

Sounds like the Prime vs Megatron story from issue 4 (or was it 5?).

I've seen a pic of the cover for the FCBD issue, which also lends credence to the theory.

The canceled comic was just the Jetfire/Jetstorm comic that comes with the 2-pack.

I knew that. I was considering the possibility that they may have had a further series of animated comics planned. Not that that seems likely.

Good news for free comic book day. It's always an adventure around here, since the comic stores seem to all have different free books. Hopefully I wont have to hunt for this one.
