That Kup Spotlight was one of the most messed up things I've ever read in comics. and I LOVED IT!
Im sorry but I do not like this redesign at all... it's like an aged version of the roboot from tripping the rift
you'll understand it once you read the story.
Kup = old, VERY old.
And I love how the spotlight has those sketches in the rear, too! A real treat.
have to read the story then youll understand why he looks that way i didnt like what i saw till i readed the story then it made scents
Man I will have to pick this up this weekend. Sounds awesome.
I thought it was brilliant! Nice to take a different pace considering all the other books of the Spotlight series are more direct and having an involvement in the current generation's crisis. but yeah, Kup went nutz.
Glad to hear that there is a good reason for Kup lookin' so old and emaciated. That was puttin' me off a bit. Should be getting this in the mail on Monday
Quite possibly, I feel that this is Roche's crowning achievement as a TF artist, and the book itself should be hailed as a milestone for Transformers storytelling along the lines of War Within.
I noticed Roche's talent in the Shockwave Spotlight, and even though it waned somewhat in the HotRod Spotlight, he comes back in full, raging force here. I honestly believe that Roche is equal, if not superior, to Don, largely in that he is capable of emoting such a strong stylization of these established characters.
Don't get me wrong, Don's the shit, but I just feel that his art doesn't have the experimental quality or versatility that Nick has.
Not only did he draw it, but he did a hell of a job on his writing debut as well. Nick Roche FTW.
Just read it last nite.
Wow - the artwork, while not something I like per se, DOES fit the feel of the story nicely.
But damn - the ending sucked... hope it's not the be-all & end-all for the oldtimer.
Nick, all I can say is, "Wow."
Roche did an amazing job with this Spotlight. I agree with Terra. The storytelling is amazing, and you really feel for the old timer.
I'm really looking forward to Nick's next TF writing gig.
