Robots In Disguise #1 Preview - Transformers News - TFW2005
Seems pretty good. If a bit slow paced for the moment do to world building. Needlenose and Horri-bull are rotten cops. But I'm glad to see them.
Looking forward to this. If it's even half as good as MTMTE #1, I will be very pleased.
Stoked. Looking forward to this tomorrow!
Damn these comics though, they always make me want classics versions of characters I never gave a poo about.
Getting this, art is much better than MTMTE 1.
It's good to see both of these books going for characters who haven't (or have barely) been touched upon previously in the IDW-verse. Setting up Horri-Bull and Needlenose as main characters? That's ace.
I look forward to seeing how the two comics complement each other
Ok, i'm liking where these 2 books are going. Don't let me down IDW
Looks okay to me- and plus points for using Needlenose and Horri-bull.
I'll be getting both this and MTMTE together in my monthly comics shipment, so I'll be interested to read 'em back to back.
reminds me i was just thinking the other day there were so many characters that never made an appearence
this looks good but im still so far behind im just now reading hearts of darkness
It's good that they're using lesser-known characeters, but I wish they would pick characters with less stupid names. I mean, "Horri-bull"? That name is embarrassingly dumb.
Interesting that Bumblebee has such a bland reaction to the Lost Light blowing up. Judging by Metalhawk's line about hundreds dying, it appears that they believe the ship actually exploded and killed everyone. That, or Bumblebee and Prowl know they were warped somewhere and are just playing dumb so Metalhawk and the NAILs won't catch on to what really happened.
Can't wait for the full issue! I'm confident it'll be a great read.
Just read through the issue (hooray for day early delivery!) and I gotta say I enjoyed the issue a LOT. It's having the same feel GI Joe has been having since the whole Cobra Civil War. The underlying plots and darker choices that are being made are making these a MUCH more exciting read. Can't wait for issue #2!
uhm,... what's with the Boba Fett looking robot and the Monsieur Mallah & Brain duo in this panel?
Just a bunch of generics to fill out the crowd scene.
They want to have a bunch of robots but don't want people thinking x character is in the book so they use some made up designs. Basing them on other characters helps somewhat.
edit: Who are you talking about when you say Monsieur Mallah and Brain? I have no clue who they are.
is that CDF Hot SHot on the right too?
I really enjoyed the writing on display (i can't believe how much more competent both of these guys seem then Costa from just these previews), although I'm really not sure how I feel about the idea of MASS communities of non-aligned Cybertronians. I mean, a group of outcasts like in the Drift mini makes sense too me, but numbers perhaps outnumbering the Bots and Cons? not sure i buy the concept.
Love Horribull and Needlenose and WOW! is Metalhawk a douche.
The art is solid, other then that horrible, horrible WFC Bumblebee. That model is just so bad! But at least Griffith slimmed it down so the gut and forearms aren't so huge.
So did they reformat themselves back to their Cybertronian bodies or is this just a art style they are using just for a few issues? If they are going back to cybertronian I rather them use the "regular" style instead of the WFC style, if that makes sense.
Villains from the Doom Patrol.
They're just fun generics.
Omega Supreme blends well with the background.
Nah, that's Zetca. He was in the "Death of Optimus Prime" one-shot, too; seems like he'll be a recurring minor character.
Well I am hooked. Ready for Comixology to drop this.
I just noticed that, too. After seeing that image like three or four times.
Separate names with a comma.
