    Ewww....star trek.:yuck

35 years later and I still cant unsee all those damn carpets, furniture, and plants on the Enterprise in original 1980s show. Definitely the appitimy of low budget sci fi.

I'm not even that into Star Trek and I can tell you that there might have been some depth if you had gotten over the fauna. As someone with second-hand knowledge of the show I can't tell you how well those themes are pulled off, but I can tell you that you went to the wrong show for mindless spectacle.

Could never get into the actual show. I was too busy trying to figure out why a spaceship control room looked like a Ron Jeremy set...

We've seen covers to some books out in January, nothing odd about that. If it was a preview then that would be weird.

Says #3 hits Nov. 28. That's two weeks apart as #2 is listed for this Wednesday. Unless that release date gets pushed back.

Nevermind. Don't know why I even came into a thread for a series I've dropped but I suppose I've saved someone else making the mistake. Thanks.

Even for the 80's, I just cant condone this tacky, poor excuse for a futuristic space ship interior. This literally could have been the set for a Ron Jeremy film. The original Star Trek had to be the worst interpretation of sci-fi space battles ever. Maybe it changed going into the 90's but the damage was already done. I cant unsee any of this...

So I think all but the second image are from the original series which was filmed in....the 60s.

You might have seen the series in the 80s but those were all reruns.

And last but not least the series wasn’t known for its budget back in the day but for its extremely well done writing and its insightful take on society and culture.

Dude, the original Star Trek was made in the SIXTIES! 60s! Not the 80s.

Also, if you're going into Star Trek expecting space battles, then you're going to be disappointed because Star Trek is NOT about space battles. Its about exploration of social and philosophical themes and interpersonal drama.

Well all I can tell you is what I remember as a kid. I didnt know how old they were. But the way youre describing the show, it might has well been a novela. Not enough action and definitally the aliens were boring. I can honestly say it was a total snoozefest. When the most notable episode involves an infestation of furballs, you know pretty damn bad.

So ive heard. The reruns were going so strong in the 80's that a 7 year old kid might be lead to believe it was new. All I can tell you is I gave it a chance as a kid thinking it would be like star wars and I was terribly dissapointed. I wasnt looking for a culture lesson, I wanted to see weird aliens shooting laser guns at humans. Just saying...

But that's not what Star Trek is. That's not a problem with the show, its a problem with you.

Look, you don't have to like Star Trek, but maybe you shouldn't shit all over one of the longest-running and most influential science fiction franchises just because you don't get it.

Me not liking a show is not a "problem" its an opinion. While some people in this community like it, I think star trek is garbage. Im dissapointed they would shit on Transformers by creating this comic. Its just stupid....as stupid as plants and leather couches on a spaceship.

It's hard to take the opinion of someone seriously who can't tell the difference between 60's and 80's production values.

I'm not a giant fan of the 60's Star Trek, but the one that came after is good stuff.
