Yeah, the backpack reminds me of Energon Megatron. Everything else is Thunderwing, baby!

    Hopefully he's still a Pretender...

I'm ashamed of myself. I've read Matrix Quest. I know who Thunderwing is. And when I looked at the picture I said...

"Whoa... is that Universe Razorclaw?" :redface2"

But still, that's a damn cool design for Thunderwing. Stormbringer sounds like it'll be cool.

I'm still excited about Hearts of Steel, even though the solicits have yet to reveal much of the story beyond the concept. I've yet to decide on Generations. I'd like to get the Marvel series, though I have some TPBs and was planning to eventually collect them all.

Oh, it is, but it makes sense to try and keep the G1 nostalgia crowd on board by featuring recognisable characters, not dropping the momentum in favour of guys even Transformers fans aren't all familiar with.

Well I doubt this is a Thunderwing solo book, I'm sure lots of other characters will be featured as well, just cause he's the only one on the cover doesn't mean he's even the main character or even the main villian for that matter. It's to early to judge.

-ZacWilliam, thinking that if Furman writes Thunderwing well it shouldn't matter if you loved him for a long time or have (surprisingly to me) just heard of him. If he's cool he's cool.

    Here, here.

I just read the Infiltration stuff last week because I haven't been to the comic shop for a while and my gawd what a pile of carp.

    Really really bad.

    Never again.

IDW, you have a lot to prove now !

Eh, I'm enjoying Infiltration all the more because it isn't fight-oriented fanservice.

Bit of info on the story side of things:

I haven't read any Infilitration yet (got huge stack and a day in a cabin in Montana waiting for me in another month. Or two. Or three. But soon enough), so I don't know if I should be excited about Stormbringer. But the art defintely grabs me.

That poster would be cooler if it was an actual homage to the original Uncle Sam one, instead of a lame ass advertisment. I give IDW enough money, I don't need to push their products in my house as well.

Wouldn't mind if they edited the text, but I like the image -- it kickstarted things, and if it's a repro of the original graphic that's fine by me...

Hopefully it'll appear somewhere I can get it in store, as I don't trust the postal service much when it comes to poster tubes.

Thunderwing was an obscure character that Furman turned into an important villain in the original Marvel run; so it's no surprise that he's investing time into him again (like he has with Grimlock and Nightbeat in the past).

I like the new design for Thunderwing; it's keeping with the redesign of all the characters in this continuity (the design reference to Energon Megatron gives him leadership qualities that the original toy design lacked).

Two minis, the ongoing, and the reprints are too much. I'll buy them all, and so will most of us, but regular comic fans might not.

somehow i dont understand your logic

by the time july hits Beast Wars will have been over [4 issue mini-series spanning february, march, april, and may]

Infiltration's arc wraps up in June

that would leave Stormbringer, Hearts of Steel, and the Marvel reprints when July comes around

    its not THAT much.

Between IDW and DDP we went from zero TF comics to four.

One ongoing and one mini-series at a time is more than enough for most of US, let alone the casual fan who is already getting turned off with 7 to 10 covers per issue before they even get to the story content.

And I still hold that the reprint book is useless outsde of the pretty covers, what with the Titan trades readily available at Amazon.com. Now if they reprinted something not easily available like the early UK comics that Titan skipped, that would be another story.
