This is a fantastic piece, even though it only took a few add-ons and a mis-tranformation. I can definately see this in the IDW comics, because The new Head and hands add much to this figure. Now all we need is IDW versions of all the characters, and I know just where to get Starscream (Energon Anyone?)

I like your mods a lot, alt hands look good on him.

I don't understand what IDW Ratchet means though (I don't read the comics. I know, please don't kick me!), could you expand or post a link to some pics or something?

I think it was just customized with IDW in mind, because all the g1 characters in the these comics had to employ a modern altmode, like the hummer/ambulance thing here.

its only really the color scheme that i got from the IDW books think of this as being inspired by their designs , i think their portrayal of ratchet is my favorite version the character and i dont think we will ever get a figure of him

    Very nice!

I actually had my Rescue Ratchet modded almost identically up until recently, with Alternator hands (Hound's are a perfect fit, no modding necessary!), the mistransformed chest and legs, and an Alt Ricochet head.

That head looks great... how big would you say it is compared to an Alternator head? It looks like it's based on Alt Prowl's face.

Just about a week ago, I was idling fussing with that mold and found what I think is a really sweet alternate transformation that you may like, as it will make him look even more like IDW Ratchet! It just requires removing some non-essential plastic with a hobby knife... it's pretty easy.

The downside is that this alternate transformation makes him really TALL, so he looks oversized next to Alternators, but more in scale with MP Optimus. I really want to post pics, but I wanted to find a better head, and a good lightbar first...

Will do. I'm getting impatient, because I can't find a head that looks just right, so I might just post some pics as a work in progress.

Looks cool! Straightforwarrd but very effective :)  And props to Sculptbot on that head too.

One of the better Movie molds, imo, and always seems to work well with the G1-inspired mods & kitbashes
