I had a guessing thread here, but I thought i'd collect everything here, plus some new stuff. This is turning out to be a little less of a scratch build than I had originally intended, more of a kit bash with alot of styrene on top. His arms, head and torso are all built around ground down Skullgrin pieces, and this legs and hips are ground down Terradive. His hands are from a terminator figure. Styrene work takes forever... ugh.

For those who haven't seen the art this is based on, this is it:

    **UPDATE MAY 10TH**

Another update! Finally started building up his upper torso and back, so he doesn't just have a chest plate with nothing behind it anymore. He looks, and feels, alot more solid now, though he weighs next to nothing. Also built his shoulder pads/front of the tank turret, and the transformation is cool. They rotate forward and slide out for tank mode, and then rotate back and slide in for robot mode. I do have two problems with them though. A) They too high on his body, but that was necessary for how i did the transformation. B) the way the transformation works, i can't build the little vents he has on either side of his head in the art. I think I can live with that, but its a little bit of a bummer.

What I have left to do on him is add more detail to the shoulder pads, add sides to the skirt, and build the tank treads, which I think is going to be the hardest/most tedious part of the whole build. I may add folding panels behind his arms that can move forward to cover the gaps in the turret, but I might not, depending on how lazy I get.

some foul beast got into this shot some how. I'll have to look into that.

Thanks guys! His right arm is done and attached now too. I think the tricky part is going to be his treads. I'm trying to work out how to do the double swivel they'll need to do to get into position. Any suggestions on how to scratch build that kind if joint?

haha, thanks guys. I really appreciate it. This guy has really been inspiring me to do other scratch things. Maybe some of you can throw your opinion in on what i should do next. I'm thinking either (all of these options are the IDW versions) Arcee, Cybertron mode Prime, Pretender Bludgeon which would be the easiest since he wouldn't have to transform, or maybe Cybertron mode Scrapper or Onslaught. Thoughts?
