I post this because of spotty information about this collected volume that contains important G1 Transformers comics.

Transformer G1 Marvel fans get what they deserve with this series. I believe it may go to more than six volumes given the inclusion of all the missing issues. I have no idea if this collection will reprint the Marvel Joe/Transformers crossovers.

I have in hand the newly released IDW reprint collection Marvel Transformers Classics, Vol. 1. This volume replaces the previous Classic Transformers series in several ways. It includes all the Marvel issues that, for the sake of copyright, were excluded from previous collections, includes full-page reproductions of the original covers, and is reprinted on fine stock. It is also recolored.

Volume 1 contains #1-13. The Amazon blurb and the IDW summary in Previews suggest that this volume includes "Car Wash of Doom" (#31). This volume doesn't go that far. This is not a "best of" or an omnibus reader. It is sequential as appears to be the upcoming Marvel UK series.

Problem #2: Circuit-Breaker, who singlehandedly saved the universe in Secret Wars #2. Go Josie!

And, to show how covers are well-displayed:

Patiently awaiting a Marvel Universe Circuit-Breaker figure, now.

So what do you mean by recolored exactly?

Have any comparison shots of the pages handy? As I might be tempted to rebuy the ones which got issues redacted.

Funny to note, "MARVEL" is removed from all the covers.

You can see the pencil hatching better. The color printing utterly obscures the dot-color printing that can be seen in many reprints and certainly the originals. I'll see if I can't get a picture to compare the recolor. The book credits Digikore Studios with the digital remastering. Guido Guidi did the tpb cover.

Looks great. Looking at my Vol.2 reprint from a few years back, the colors are kind of splashed in the general direction of the lines. This is a big improvement.

It looks recolored the way Dark Horse's Star Wars or Conan reprints (which also remove the word "MArvel," by the way) are- just a touched up version. Which is fine.

Well, I have all of those, and so does everyone who bought the worldwide distributed Titan reprints (I got hardcovers to boot).

The only thing that'd make me *think* about buying the US versions are:
    * Hardcovers
    * Color CORRECTIONS (Soundwave isn't purple, but Nel Yomtov would like you to think so!) or entirely-redone-colors by some of today's talented colorists using modern applications (There are plenty of copies of the Titan untouched reprints for every Transfan out there)
    * Letters pages (YES, I realize they'd have to nix some of the text to protect people's privacy, but they are able to remove the legal text at the beginning of each issue, and the Marvel from each cover...)
    * FULL sized cover prints (it's interesting that someone made an issue of them supposedly being full-sized in this edition, but then they aren't, as the pictures demonstrate.

Maybe the third time will be the charm for IDW. I just don't see why they didn't look at how many copies the Titan reprints sold (they're ubiquitous!), and look at the market. Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse are doing really nice Anthologies, Omnibi, Absolute Editions, etc.

I CAN'T WAIT for the UK Anthologies to start, though. I've been waiting for over a dozen years, in a way.

Does the the UK one also start from Issue 1. I really wanna read those old comics from Issue 1 on! I wish I could hunt down all my old comics! I wanna read the Zombie story with flywheels, and the one where Galvatron tries to rebuild Unicron and goldbug has a go!, woah nostalgia kicking in!!

Eh, I have the Titan reprints, which do cover the issues IDW didn't/couldn't include and I'm perfectly happy with them. Pass on this set.
