Nice dodge to keep Soundwave in a classic alt-mode...

Gonna be a fun year for TFs. :)

    February for #1.

The Nick Roche cover for Generations #12 is pretty damned cool. Three guesses which story it reprints....

nice that they are gettin the War Within TPB back out there (no hows about wrapping up Vol 3, hmmmm :D )

the Shockwave spotlinght cover: Ravage and Laserbeack look amazing to me, but SW just looks silly ~ some pretty weird perspective going on there... and his head and left hand look like they're extend out from the body and forearm like they're on a stick o something :p

i can't believe they are reprinting Car Wash of Doom. that was probably one of the single worst issue of the Marvel run.... (heck, i can't believe they're still printing Generations)

Car Wash of Doom gets an unfair shake. It's intentionally campy people!

In Escalation number 1, Prime mentions (out of nowhere) that Soundwave was on Earth. Now we get to find out what Prime was talking about.

And, I highly suspect that Soundwave will have his original design, but my one criticism of IDWs work is that the covers are all over the place in terms of character design version. Infiltration had covers with characters in their new design, characters in their old design, and characters in some hybrid of the toy\classic design. If you are going to redesign the characters, don't revert to the old designs on the covers.

Finally, War Within gets reprinted. The War Within series is the last set of comics I ever loaned anyone. They did not get returned to me. You would think the publisher of an independent comic would be more honorable in that regard.

yeah, I also wish they'd use the Classic Designs were appropriate, like with Jetfire in Stormbringer...

    "The Megaman Cometh?"

Hoping that's a misspelling, and even if it is, it sounds like the words on the cover of a cheesy '70s Marvel comic.

Agreed. That Jetfire design is fantastic in two and three dimensions.

It took so long for Optimus Prime to adopt an Earth mode that I thought for certain that he would have his Classics design.

Yet, when he finally did arrive, there he was in what is largely his original form from the 80s. I suppose they didn't want to alter the most iconic of all Transformers, but still, I thought that was a good opportunity to use the new Classics design.

Side Note: I thought that Don's War Within Prime was the coolest iteration of the character I would ever see, but the Stormbringer Prime was even better IMO.

yeah, the bot mode of Classics Prime is so "on" to the original (aside from the arm kibble) it just doesn't make sense to me that they didn't use it, especially since the aren't redesigning him much at all
ya know, i actually kind of preffered the War Within version, aside from those sweet over the shoulder guns he was rockin' in SB...

I see the "energon cube" is going to be called the Allspark. Much better, but still wish they would call it the Matrix.

    Ebay:
I have not touched Generations at all, but I am going to buy Buster Witwicky and the Carwash of Doom. Just because. Hell, I WANT to read that story, and the cover is freaking sweet.

Oh, and everything else sounds neat. :D
