Is HOD part of the same line as the old IDW ongoing? Or is it a series of issues of it's own? And if it's in the same ongoing as the old IDW ongoing which issues are they?

    Thanks

Not to be too negative but most people try to forget it ever existed.

    That includes IDW.

Yeah, it helps understanding Infestation and Chaos.
I have TPB of it, but I just read the scripts and ignore its art. Something went really, REALLY wrong with the art.
(I don't know who Farinas is, but I'm so sure that he shouldn't do art for Transformers...)

Just my two cents - I didn't mind the art and I liked the story.

HoD is easily the worst TF comic I've ever read, granted I've only been reading them for a year or so, but it's quite pathetic imo. I played a drinking game where I took a shot for every time 'Darkness' cropped up in the dialogue and I was steaming by the end of the second issue. Admittedly that helped me get over the abominable art, but still...

With the terrible art, poor dialog and ridiculous plot. Costa's worse doesn't compare to this. Even IDW swept it under the table for the most part.

Plus Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning were never heard from again in these parts.

"Here's Ulises Farinas, who draws each individual gear and cog on the transforming robots exposed innards, and he's given a script that reads like it's from a giveaway comic that comes free with a large Coke at Wendy's."

    Yeah....this about covers it.

I like to think of the Heart of Darkness story as the hallucination that was fed to Galvatron by D-Void. We are seeing reality as Galvatron is seeing it, not as it actually is. This explains much of the difference between the HOD mini and the mainline story at the time(though not the difference in alt-mode). As such, I thought this story was ok.
