This is not a rumor this is just an idea.

What if IDW started "IDW Animation" like marvel did with Planet hulk and the other recent movies.

The idea is one i have always thought of but never thought would happen.
Imagine if they turned each of the trade paperback story arcs into, like, 45 minute to one hour+ movies. I thought of it when i read "stormbringer" and then watched ultimate avengers. It would be animation not motion comics.

What would you think of such an idea. voice your opinion.

Seeing as IDW doesn't own transformers it'll never happen. Be nice if Hasbro did this though.

It's already been attempted once, as a motion comic:

    Transformers: Beginnings - Transformers Wiki

And IDW rejected a pitch for a motion comic based on their "All Hail Megatron" miniseries:

    [added later]

Since the latter was shot down, I don't see any chance of it happening again unless it's related to TF3. And I couldn't imagine that IDW has the financial resources to launch an animation production company. Most comic companies are barely getting by these days as it is. It would be cool if they did, though. I'd buy it, if it were a quality production and not something like "Transformers Beginnings" which if it hadn't had the likes of Cullen and Welker involved would have little redeeming value.

Just as long as it's Last Stand of the Wreckers and not any of the other gobbledygook IDW's put out, I'll be fine.

OP stated that this "what if" DVD would be fully animated, not a motion comic.

Motion comics are something completely different and in essence, across the comics board, were a big fail.

yeah im not talking about a motion comic. I talking about something along the lines of marvel animation. If you've read Hearts of Steel, Stormbringer, All Hail Megatron then you probably get why this would be a good idea.

I'm not either. I was giving examples of why it's unlikely that it would happen. Unfortunately, I clicked "reply" before I could finish typing my comment. I edited my post above accordingly.

    Who's "OP"?

Lazy internet shorthand for "original poster", aka thread starter.

Ah. I see. Confusing for this forum, since "OP" usually stands for... you know, that red and blue leader guy.

I agree, motion comics are big disapointments. they are just voice overs.

I own Transformers: Beginnings and i only liked it because that means i dont have to read the terrible movie prequals. If it were a motion comic, i wouldnt buy it for more than, like, 8$.

Ha! It was free with that WMT exclusive release of the 2007 movie, and I thought it was overpriced. :D

I thought you were referring to someone in this thread. Google didn't factor in the equation.
