ok one of my soldiers is deploying and he sold me a bunch of his idw transformers comics. as I am not really into comics I was wondering if people actually collect these things. My soldier was sort of crazy and has some of the comics 4 times each just for the diffrent covers. Me personaly i didnt realize people cared about what cover is on something.

LOL sorry I know that people collect comics. I just don't understand the diffrent covers. Basicly i baught them because he is deploying and doesnt have room for them. If i can get what i payed for them i would gladly sell them. I have no clue what they are worth and was basicly trying to see if people are intrested in them enough to buy them. Not like i can fault people for collecting comics i have over 500 transformer toys lol. But I am not a big fan of repaints and i guess the whole diffrent cover art thing confuses me.

    About a buck each.

Back issue books really do not go for a lot unless it's a rare variant, and even those are hit and miss. This is both due to people buying them as they come out if they are interested and the trade novel market where people just wait for the collected editions. Most times back issues can easily be found at conventions for $1-$2 and that's from dealers.

Your best bet might be putting them on e-bay with a bid of what you want for them as a Buy It Now and see what happens.

He seems to have liked it if he bought so many cover varients. Maybe as a thanks for his service, you could save at least 1 copy of each issue & give them back to him once his deployment is over. Sell the rest to make your $$ back. Did you get a deal buying them or did you buy at cover price.

Yeah, a while back I bought someone's small IDW comic collection for $1 each.

I don't collect different covers, but I can definitely understand it. My wife wouldn't let me do this, but I think it'd be fun to hang up comics on the wall like posters. Then different colors would be just like having different posters...
