Roberts HIMSELF has admitted there's an intentional parallel between Grimlock and people who have debilitating disorders. I'm not projecting; the writer has come out and said "This is the point I am making."

Many people can and indeed do do that for MTMTE. But here's the thing; a headcanon isn't representation either. And what Robertts did with Misfire WAS slap a label on something and shove it into the back end of the book. It's nowhere in the narrative. People who would potentially identify with Misfire could miss it entirely because it's not IN THE STORY.

That's the thing about invisible representation in fiction. Making it explicit and giving people something to identify with is the whole POINT, or should be. You think spelling it out makes it token, but it doesn't have to be. They've been upfront about Chronedome and Rewind being gay and for a while they were the primary same gender romantic pairing in the story. That meant a LOT to people.

Now imagine if it were kept as "subtext" and spelled out as a footnote or potentially years later. That'd really suck, right?

    1. Grimlock would be considered disabled. Disabled veterans are no less disabled because their struggles were caused by war injury rather than having been born with it.

    2. I'm autistic, have symptoms of selective mutism(have long periods where I can't talk irl), and my little brother is non-verbal.

Disclaimer: I am one autistic person and my opinion is not meant to detract from those who are bothered by it. Also I suck at writing my thoughts.

Misfire raising his fist to hit Grimlock bothered me. I'm sensitive to some forms of violence. I'll admit that. When Misfire lowered his fist, I was relieved. I suppose it's not a logical reaction because people have been attacked worse in this series but humans respond to what we know and both myself and my little brother have been attacked because bullies thought we couldn't defend ourselves. My brother can't. I still have my words. Grimock reminds me of my little brother and the situation the former Autobot has been put into disturbs me. I don't blame JRo for the character's actions, just the Scavengers who are awful people and I hope the Autobots weren't involved in the situation so they can save him.

There were fans who were worried Misfire might have abused Grimlock in the past offscreen. Maybe #46 will prove me wrong but I doubt it. I noticed Grimlock didn't raise his arms to defend himself when he balled up his fist. This would have been a good indicator of the author's intent because both myself and my brother still do that. When you have a mute kid like me to pick on who can't interrupt the class to tell the teacher the person in back is attacking you it makes you a very good target. Even better is when the teacher doesn't believe it happened. This is just what happened in the dang classroom. In middle school I learned people can be real jerks. Things are better in High school but I still bring my hands up to shield myself when someone approaches me unexpectedly and I know someone who finds it hilarious so tries to startle me by talking loudly while I'm studying because I always do it. My brother startles easily too. I think Caretakers, especially evil ones, should be allowed to be frustrated with the task in front of them as long as they never take it out on their charges. My younger brother wears pull-ups and sometimes wets or poops in them so it's my job as the older sibling to change it. This has at times annoyed me. I have never hit my brother or been tempted to do so buuuuuut he's my awesome baby brother not the former leader of the Dinobots and I'm also not a decepticon soldier either. I'd prefer the Autobot was cared for by professionals but Misfire is trying and that's a good thing.

The Scavengers didn't seem more sympathetic to me than Grimlock. They don't even really use "Grimlock is too dangerous for us to control" when deciding whether or not they should sell the poor guy but instead use "Grimlock is inconvenient and has outlived his usefulness. We want money" as an argument.

Krok eagerly wants to get on with his life because he feels like he's being held back by the team. Also money. Cool motive bro. He's selling a sentient life form who helped his team survive against the DJD but is obviously unlike the person he was to a guy who's obviously going to awful things to him. There is no remorse here. NONE. His dismissal of MTO bots and his casual encouragement of using the money to commit genocide for pleasure was also noted.

Crankcase wants a space ship so he can go commit genocide in peace. Which is obviously more important than a person's life

Spinster just doesn't like Grimlock. Time to die Grimmy!

I noticed JRo said retweet(put it on your blog) if you wouldn't sell Grimlock and like if you would. If a person re-tweeted it would be seen by friends who might also share this viewpoint, which would possibly result in more people who are Decepticons who wouldn't sell Grimlock than those that would.

I can say that if I were a Cybertronian and ever joined the Decepticons I'd have done it because I was sick of the functionalists treating people like me with Disabilities without the respect we deserve. To sell Grimlock would have betrayed myself and my beliefs.
Though tbh if I knew what I know about the cons I'd make a lousy Decepticon. Ignoring that I'm anti-genocide, I've seen evidence that the cons do not treat people with disabilities well. The survival of the fittest mentality does not encourage much kindness or sensitivity for those in need of it. See also Astrotrain's decision to keep silent of his vision impairment out of fear that Megatron would find out. I'd have switched over to the Autobots years ago if I hadn't gone neutral.

I need to read #46 before I pass final judgement on this 2-parter but until that comes out I am fine with it. Even if there were parts that made me cringe. That doesn't mean I don't support those that do feel uncomfortable with it. Those feelings are legitimate and are important. I'm simply not them.

    3. GWolfv2: I would read the heck out of anything you wrote on morality.

Hasbro's monstrous bigotry is, like German jokes, no laughing matter. It is disgusting and should not be condoned.

Another one that pisses me off is Warpath.
He's a tank (again, German), but he's an Autobot, so what does Hasbro do to show how sh*tty Germans are? They give him turrets and a damaged personality, as if to say that Germans are either evil, or crazy.

Just look at all of Transformers fiction, how are Germans represented? We have two German characters in all of 31 years of Transformers: Animated Blitzwing, who has three personalities each with their own mental disabilities and he's a Decepticon, one of his personalities doesn't even have a proper face, it has Carnage's face, clearly hearkening back to WW2 and the holocaust clearly symbolizing that Germans can do nothing but cause carnage, and squash people just like flies. The Ice personality also clearly makes light of the thousands of German solders that died when Hitler tried to invade Russia. And the Hot head personality is just blatantly supposed to say how Germans can do nothing but burn people (witches and Jews).
And they put that in a children's cartoon DISGUSTING.

The other character? Dutch. A gay blond blue eyed psychopath suffering from PTSD. Not only is this guy Aryan, but he's again super damaged, crazy and incredibly violent. This guy can overpower an entire room of Russian gangsters (again, making fun of the German solders that died in Russia, on top of that Dutch is on his own and the Russians outnumber him 7 to 1, just like in the war) and he makes references to a "darker" and "old" Dutch who's supposed to be the violent past, again WW2. (What is Hasbro's obsession with WW2?)
With this character Hasbro clearly says that Germans will always be violent untrustworthy monsters, and the only way of preventing them from doing anything bad again is by turning them all gay so they don't procreate.
And that my friends is what we call genocide.

This is so easy to do and soooooooo much fun, Is hould get a tumblr and do this more often. XD

Except there's a catch - the original Blitzwing has a German based name, but a Russian MiG-25 jet mode, and a Japanese Type-74 tank mode. He is literally pure evil as the embodiment of the three most evil forces ever to seek to conquer the world!

But at the same time, that Blitzwing was the only Diaclone triple changer...made by Takara, not Hasbro! What could it MEAN?!

Takara was obviously bullied into doing that by Hasbro, after all Diaclone was based on Microman whichnwas based on their GI Joe import. Takara had to do that to keep making their stuff. Hasbro is a bully of a company and they're racists that get off on war and destruction.

^don't believe hasbro had any power or sway over takara back in the day.

On the subject of the thread, I have walked away from the comics for the time being. Bit too convoluted with all the different arcs and off-shoots.

See? That's even worse. Hasbro refurbished him for their own agenda, but he already was a political manifesto. He was a posterchild catering to leftovers of WW II Japanese imperialism and a political commentary about retaking Japanese northern territories by force.
And Bludgeon? Also designed in Japan, also a Japanese tank alt mode...
Like, literally a line of warmongering toys advertising going back to militarism!

Actually, the tank mode of Blitzwing was a T-55 soviet tank.

Actually, nope. Tfwiki got this one right.

His design is a fantasy one because of his jet nose sticking out at the rear end, but he has more elements from the Japanese Type 74 than from T-55.

Both are Cold War tanks with a cast turret, but:

    - rear end of Blitzwing's turret is square shaped, and
    - Soviet T-55 and derivates have a huge gap between the first of its road wheels and the second

And a few other details. In the end he's more Type 74 than T-55:

It's indirectly related to comic books because it helps in uncovering HasTak political agendas and lack of social responsibility that is plaguing this franchise since its very inception.

You have to read between the letters. Red Alert's toy explained it all to me via telepathy. The truth is out there.
