This is the one i've been waiting for. I personally like AHM, but only read a few issues because my local comic shop SUCKS
I love these hardback versions (have 1 2 3 4). I was buying trade paperbacks but now just wait for these. It feels better to have a real book on the shelf, also I am guessing that the effect of time yellowing will be less than other formats.
cannot wait for this !!!!!
So they're releasing AHM as it's own hardcover, then releasing it again as IDW collection #5?
Im confused on this as well. The AHM HC is listed at 492 pages, but this one is 352. I have AHM preordered but Id like the IDW collection since I have the others.
From what a friend has told me, the All Hail Megatron collection is supposed to be all 16 issues of the series, and it's supposed to have some of the Spotlights that are supposed to be intertwined with the series. I'm sure it will also have cover galleries and such, maybe some concept art, etc. From what I've seen, the IDW Collection sets have only the material and none of the extra stuff, so it may still be worth getting.
The AHM HC is the complete collection of the 4 AHM TPBs, so issues 1-12, 4 issue Coda, Spotlights: Blurr, Jazz, Drift, Cliffjumper & Metroplex.
The IDW Collection HCs have already reprinted the Spotlights, so Volume 5 is just going to be AHM #1-12 and the 4 issue Coda.
Yeah, cool. See wasn't sure which Spotlights were in the AHM set, but knew that there were supposed to be some. Now, I haven't read any of AHM or any of these Spotlights, so how do they coincide chronoligically with AHM? Hate to sound like a stickler, but try not to spoil too much for me. What order should I read all this in (assuming that the AHM Complete Collection won't be in exact order).
Awesome stuff and I will buy it. Novemver huh?
Geez, I thought the AHM HC wasn't going to overlap the IDW books so I ordered it, even tho I haven't yet gotten the IDW collections (I have the 2 earlier oversize HC's and had waffled on replacing them). "double dipping" always makes me feel cheated, unless it's been several years (like "deluxe" editions of 20-yr-old albums or new versions of comic collections where I got the first one in the 80's or 90's)
i was really excited about AHM when i first heard about it.
but for a story that i thought was going to be about megatron, he sure wasn't in it very much.
it centered more around the autobots becoming the same basic story we've always had.
Ah, exactly the answer I needed. Since I've already got volumes 1-4, i'll tick with that format.
Another cool-looking cover!
Had it preordered weeks ago when I bought volumes 1-4. I can't wait fr the AHM saga.
The spotlights were all one shots so can be read by themselves, and even the coda issues don't all fit in with AHM. A couple of them link in, but you'll be fine just reading AHM 1-12, and then the spotlights and coda issues.
