I just saw this movie today with almost no knowledge of it. Seriously, not one poster, advertisement or anything have I ever seen. Comes from director Mike Judge who did Office Space, Beavis & Butthead, etc. Stars Luke Wilson, Maya Rudolph.

Great stuff! The movie is rather high concept for a comedy, but here you go: an average person from today is frozen in time and thawed out 500 years from now where the dumb are the majority because of how they breed so much quicker than the intelligent. Mr. Average now becomes the smartest man in the world, but is surrounded by the worst mixture of redneck/cholo/ghetto/ig'nant. Laughs galore on how bad our culture could get regarding consumerism, sex 'n violence, reality TV, bling-bling and so much more.

This is a must-see movie for anyone with a brain. All the rest of you (who probably aren't smart enough to know what a cumpooter is anyway) just won't get it.

Almost sounds too depressing to watch.
Sounds like a science fiction novel my dad was telling me about, btw.

I remember this. It was initially going to be a cartoon series, similar to Futurama. I'm glad he still did something with it.

It's totally a comedy. My synopsis probably didn't emphasize that enough. I just didn't want to spoil laughs for anyone going to see it. I was rolling almost non-stop and there are tons of little details that make this a must-buy on DVD. Like the Carl's Jr. logo that is an angry-star instead of the smiley-star and the city-sized Costco where you can get a law degree. And Starbucks is a distributor of "latte", "hot latte" and "full body latte", if you catch my drift...

Awesome, I cannot wait to see this. I remember back when it was been thrown around as a potential series. Office Space was brilliant, and I look forward to more great humour. Only problem is I can't seem to find any sort of international release date. Waaah.

I think Fox pulled an Office Space on this one, but worse. Absolutely no promotion whatsoever. Haven't looked on the 'net though. I just went seeing that it was listed in my local theaters and was curious enough to do some digging of my own on its background.

They released this? Damn, last I heard they shelved it and that was only a few months ago. Was this a limited run type of thing?

Limited release in only 7 North American cities (Austin, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and Toronto) according to AICN.

Here's the link (with a spoiler review):

No where near me. Oh well, it'll likely get a DVD release, so I'll just catch it then.
