So... this isn't a transformer, and it's been sort of bothering me that I haven't been able to figure out A) what this toy was or B) where it came from. I'm posting here on the off chance that someone here knows what the heck it is better than I do, as searching through mountains of 80s and 90s toy listings has so far produced nothing

Background: This item was purchased in the late 80s in Cambridge, England

Description: A white robotic Bird. The rear of his tail formed a "handle" of sorts, pushing the trigger beneath flapped his wings. His claws had buttons on them that would make them snap shut when you pushed them down on something. On top of the robobird was a kind of saddle with a spring hinge "clamp" to hold down whatever figure was put there, sort of like one of those roller coaster security bars.

I had this toy ages ago, eventually breaking it and selling it at a garage sale. It was a neat piece, but I have not been able to find out for the life of me just what it was.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

No... that wasn't it. It definately had a big raised saddle on its back with a clawlike springloaded support piece. And it was more curvey than angular, despite being robotic.

Hrm. /e looks up MOTU toys though.

Bumping in the hopes that someone who might have missed this late last night might see it and know.

    WINNER!

Thank you! Man, that toy doesn't quite look as cool as it did in my remeniscent mind :p

Still, it was hella fun. The grabby claws HURT like a mother if you snapped them on your finger. They don't let manufacturers put springs that strong in toys anymore ;)

Nice... it looks better in silver and white actually. It's not one of my favourite designs from Starriors, but it still has a certain appeal.

Kind of like a prototype for the Zoids Storm Sworder. :)

    I had a few of those R.A.T.S.
Nice to finally know what they are.
