I bought a lot of G.I. Joes on eBay, and this thing was in the box. (I'm not sure the guy even knew it transformed :) ). It is probably a knockoff, as I can't find a symbol on it, and it doesn't have a Hasbro, Takara, or Tomy copyright. It says "China Patented. Made in China" on the bottom. As you can see in one of the pictures it has a chompy mouth on the front of it's chest, which forms the front of the tank. It also had a place for batteries on the tank barrel, but I can't imagine what that would be for. Please tell me if you can't see the pictures; this is the first time I've posted a picture on here  .

Thx so much! Any idea what brand it is? Or is that just impossible to tell?

I saw an orange one of these at a car boot sale last year. I didn't bother buying it though because it was missing the gun turret.

I actually found one of those at a thrift store a few days back for $.50. Even though it's a KO of a brick, the plastic quality is pretty good.

Maybe this isn't the same as the thing I saw then. What I saw was around Deluxe size, maybe slightly larger. I thought cake toppers were generally small. I remember getting a G2 Sparkstalker on a Birthday cake once. I also remember being quite annoyed they'd done that as part of the fun of a new figure is taking it out of the packaging myself. I'm sure I said something to the effect of "So much for 'mint on sealed card', you shits". :p

its pretty big on the cake, which is done up like a battlefield. pretty cool for a KO. I keep it around for the sentimental value.

Went to Walmart today based on this thread and found the cake topper for $6.98. The Bakery section has a catalog in front of the cakes that shows all the cake themes they can make. The tank robot is towards the end. If you want to buy it they give you a ticket that you take to the cashier. Once you pay for your purchases you go back to the bakery with the ticket and your receipt and they give you the goods.

:lol  That's so funny! Really good quality for a cake topper. Any idea why it would have batteries?

They sell those as cake toppers? I've seen the exact same mold sold in desert camo as a knockoff. does the cake topper have a pullback motor in it? The batteries are likely for a sound feature, or maybe that motor.

For $6.98 you may as well have got the cake with it.

Mine doesn't have any slot or panel for batteries. There's a separately-molded solid green plastic bump on the top of the base of the barrel that could just as easily have been an LED but there's definitely no electronics.

Did it have the opening jaw on the chest? I've seen a couple of different colors of G2 Megatron knock-offs attached as a bonus on children's t-shirts but I've never bought one so I don't know if its the exact same mold as this one.

I just found another cake topper at Walmart that transforms differently than the dark green one:

I also noticed that the green one has a waist joint!

The battery compartment is on the underside of the tank barrel on mine. The toy should take (according to the battery cover) those little circular book batteries, but when I open it up I don't see springs or metal of any kind.  Maybe it's just broken. Mine isn't the best specimin though; it's broken in a couple of places.
