I went against better judgment after taking 20 minutes to just put the two halves together and fiddled with the hood.

now i can't close the hood down and lock it in place.

the only thing that does not look right is that one of those white tubes (the one on the left side on mine) came loose. not out, just loose, as the end that goes down into the rear of the engine area/firewall popped loose.

Anyone have the same thing happen and suggestions for a fix?
i doubt i will ever TF the twins after i get this straightened out.

Just want him back to a displayable state.

Took me a bit to realize you meant "Ice Cream Truck". Nonstandard abbreviations are confusing.

The answer is that the white tab at the top of Skids' grill pulls out. If you don't do that, the hood can't lock.

I know about the tab on the grill. i had to pull it out to open the hood.

my problem is that i cannot lock it down again. and i mentioned the loose "tube" in the engine compartment as the possible cause.

Both of those "tubes" are loose on mine and it's never been a problem. Can your hood not sit flush against his shoulders? And pics would help if possible.

I have learned from more fiddling with him that what is keeping the hood from locking down (in alt mode) is his pop up head. i watched Peaugh's review of the toy and he mentioned that moving the grill releases the head.
i just can't seem to keep the head down to lock the hood in place with that tab.
it pushes up against the hood and the tab won't hold. the hood comes open.

The head is on a spring actually so it's not that it is released when you push on the grill, more so that it is always trying to pop up. Push down on the hood to push the head down then move the grill tab over the hood.
