...the many fanboys on here for attempting to make sense of the catastrophically contradictory plot in this trilogy.

Were it not for your wonderfully creative attempts to tie the gaping plot holes between these films into some sort of pre-considered, Tolkien-esque 'overarching story', I would be able to sleep in the knowledge that poor writing and Bay's monumental overlooking of such things was to blame.

    Thank you.

    /sarcasm. :p

But seriously, if there were any sign of how poor the sequels have been (I personally think the first film works well on its own), it is in the fact that you guys are literally having to put in the leg work yourself to make sense of it all, with your wonderful theories. Many of which I think are probably better than those intended!

Fair play to you all - I shall sit back and watch the fan fiction fill in the gaps like poly filler in a crap decorating job :D

Hmmm, nice. But I think the term you're looking for is 'right'

The simple minded of you will be quick to lament anything that disagrees with your point of view as a 'troll', but you'd do well to listen to opinions contradicting your own rather than just label somebody a 'troll'

    Internetisms are so stupid sometimes.

Surely that image is more a form of this so called 'trolling' than anything else? If I'd gone into one of your threads with a large picture endorsing my argument, wouldn't you feel the same? Idiot.

You could just ignore the thread, to be honest.

If I ignored the thread I couldn't feed your trolling more.

You could just keep your rude opinion to yourself, to be honest.

Why don't you offer an intelligent rebuttal to my 'rude opinion?'

    That's how these things work!

    Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Your giving him his Troll-Alpo now. Let him lament in his hatred of a movie. You know. The typical "Your opinion is wrong and mine is right".

Bay's hasn't put the best story together. I'm still gonna speculate all I goddamn want.

Okay, says the guy who put up a picture of the Joseph Ducreux.

And to you, for your use of hyperbole.

I don't think any one here, at any point, has thought that this trilogy was planned from the start, at least as far as an "overarching story" goes (It never happens in Hollywood, ever. But feel free to bash this specific franchise for it). I'd definitely be willing to bet that no one has thought the story was "Tolkein-esque" in any way, and tried to argue that point.

It's a simple process, really. All you do is look at what happens in the films, and then see how they relate to each other.

Some people need assistance understanding things. We're here to help.

    I really don't understand this.

You disagree with my opinion. That's perfectly fine.

Why don't you try and prove me wrong instead of just calling me a 'troll' in a thread of which I started myself?

That makes no sense whatsoever, does it?

EDIT: That argument is not aimed to the last few posters.

You have to put a discussable opinion forward first.

"It's funny that fans fill in gaps in movie stories" isn't a topic that can be expanded upon.

Thanks for your intelligent response. This is what I was hoping for, and it's much appreciated!

I think what irritates me is that people seem to refuse to accept the plot holes as bad filmmaking, and in many cases have to be creative themselves to make sense of them.

That's nothing against any of those people; of course, people are allowed to do what they want. But it would be nice if these films worked like other decent trilogies!
