I'm not sure if I should know who that is, but what movies has he directed?

I'm sure many people think any director will be better than Bay.

=P he is the dude that directed, and wrote for Doctor Who, and Sherlock. Both BBC programs that have been really successfull.

Oh, well definatley 48fps which will make the movie less enjoyable, just because it'll look like a TV show. I really don't think it's his type of movie, but if he did make a TF series, it would probably he suspenseful. Sort of more human based plot.

I've never watched those shows, but I've definatley heard of them.

Sorry, man - only someone who knows their TF lore should write. No ifs, ands or buts.

What's wrong with fanwank? You can have a lot of fanwank and still tell a fantastic story, ala TFA.

Fanwank can be fine if it's subtle. TFA's was one of the few things I didn't like about that show.

So are we actually talking about Steven Moffat?

A couple of years ago I might've immediately said 'Yes!', but the last couple of series of Doctor Who were pretty poor in my opinion. I think Moffat has been believing too much of the hype about himself. Sherlock was decent enough, I suppose. Does that translate well into helming a big budget Hollywood effects movie? I guess the only way to know for sure would be to have it happen.

Well he wrote the screen play for The adventures of Tin Tin: The secret of the Unicorn, and that was quite succesful (and an enjoyable film) so maybe. MAYBE.

Co-written script with (according to the link I posted if I read it right) Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright.

I've not seen Tin Tin so I can't comment on quality, but if he's not got the sole writing credit on it then it's not a legitimate example.

Well Edgar Wright only wrote Thomson and Thomsons dialouge because it was Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. I was so sure Moffat was the only writer on it.

I guess we'll never know exactly who wrote what. I concede that Moffat will have written the lion's share though.
Wonder what Joe Cornish contributed. I saw Attack the Block about a month ago and it was a decent enough effort considering he both wrote and directed it. Not big Hollywood effects quality of course, but I could see him heading that direction maybe. The commentary on AtB with him and Edgar Wright was pretty interesting since they're both writers/directors.

Totally. I just want a writer who understands the charecters like

Optimus Prime - A leader still unsure of himself but strives to fight for good but wonders about what is the moral way of winning the war, he doesn't like to kill but believes he must to stop the Decepticons.

Bumblebee - Spunky, Young hip, a wannabe because he believes he's useless compared to the rest of his team.

Ratchet - cranky, grumpy but has a heart of gold. He tries to have a cold detachment to the rest of the team because he fears the fact he might not be able to save them.

Prowl - a prick whose more focused on winning the war than befriending humans and does very questionable things even for the greater good.

Megatron - Once a freedom fighter now turned terrorist now dictator. Megatron now wants to conquer the universe for his empire. His rivalry with Optimus is complicated think Armada Megatron/Optimus Prime. He's a bad guy but not without his own sense of honour.

Starscream - Loyal to the cause but not to Megatron. He believes he's a better fit for leader than Megatron and woudl kill him if he had the chance but is very tatiful in doign so only for Megatron to survive and casted as a outsider. He goes rouge and screams up miserably but goes through a change of heart ala Armada Starscream and ends up dying to save the universe.

Soundwave - The 2nd in command and communcations specialist. He don't talk much but he's spies everywhere with his minions like Laserbeak who does all of the talking for him. His loyalty to Megatron is unquestionable and his agenda is unknown. He may or may not be a minion of Unicron.

He worked on ATB? The more you know.

@Autovolt: Prowl being a lead Autobot gurantees the series would be great.

Yes. Honestly he, Starscream, Jazz, Ultra Magnus, Shockwave, Arcee, Bonecrusher, Overlord and Warpath are my favs.

Prowl would be voiced by Crispin Freeman. Think of like Jeremiah Gottweild from Code Geass or Roy Harper/Red Arrow from Young Justice. The best kind of pricks.
