Glad to hear you and your wife are okay. It sucks that her job marked her as absent instead of using a sick day or something though. I remember the first time I got nailed from behind, it hurt like a motherfucker and I was sore for days!
They made it sound like it was her fault. She could have said something like "don't worry about it" or "you're covered". She just started the job a coupld of weeks ago but still. Don't say "You're absent".
dude, you're lucky!!! the other day this lady flipped her van, we were right there when it happened. A bunch of people dove in out of nowhere to help here until the paras could get there.... Now that highway is cursed. Already there've been three more accidents in only the past two days. We afraid to go on it now
The story continues... So my car was declared a total loss. All I have to do is give them my title and they will cut me a check...I have no car title. So I go to the DMV, they said I have to go to DC because it's a DC car title. Checked online to see what I need before I actually GO to the DC DMV. It's says that it would take about 15 days to get a title. Called my insurance to get an extension on the rental so that I can do this epic DMV journey beause I knew I would probably have to make multiple trips before I have all the proper papers. They said maybe THEY could do something about getting the title. 4 days later, nope. You have to go to DC. CRAP! So I go today. UGH! WRONG PAPERS!!!...
That sucks about your car getting totaled. I remember when I got into a car accident back in 2007, my insurance company ended up totaling it even though it wasn't seriously damaged. I was sure depressed for days about that. Also sucks about having to go all the way to DC to get the title. Hope you get everything taken care of soon.
Luckily, I had a nice DMV guy. Told me what I needed and what to do. Called the bank to get them to fax the DMV a lien release form with all the correct information. Called them on the cell phone telephone explained the situation. Car totaled, title, dmv, bank. Told me to call ANOTHER number, number didn't work, called bank back, phone is dying, bank calls back saying fax is on the way. Got all the proper work to nice DMV guy. Will get title in the mail 8 to 10 days. All in 2 hours not including the drive to and from DC and looking for a parking spot in Georgetown. PHEW! The next step for me is see if my insurance will extend the rental car. After that, look for new car. As for my wife, she found another job that pays less BUT she feels better. We're going to complain to that woman's district manager.
I really cannot wait to put all of this behind me. Cats made us happy. Glad that wife and I are ok, glad about kitties, then glad about TF's.
