I am ok (I don't know how lucky I am.) I was headed north and this guy ran a red light and hit my side of the car and it knocked me into a telephone poll across the street. I spent the day in the ER room here in Indy. I hope the car is totalled.

I hope that other driver's insurance company doesn't start giving you the run around. I know, because that happened to me.

Getting t-boned is a messed up experience. I remember when I got hit bad like that, for a good half year I had no faith in traffic laws and would subtlely brace myself everytime I went through an intersection. But enough of the serious talk... Don't forget to tell the insurance company about the completely destroyed Picasso in the backset due to the accident. wink wink now, all you have to do is go to Target, buy some mass-produced paintings, destroy them beyond recognition, throw em in the back seat and boom, insurance fraud!
Um, yeah, your car is totaled. If I were you, I'd file it with your insurance. That way you can go ahead and get the car paid off or replaced--though you'll have to initially pay the deductible--and then let your insurance go after them. That way you don't have to deal with their insurance company trying to dick you over.
Hey man. Glad to hear you're okay. I'm not an insurance guy, but I am a car guy (who has done body work in the past). If they try to not total the car, kick and scream. The floor is caved in on the passenger side. That is the structure of the car. I don't care who fixes it, it will NEVER be right. That door won't shut right, and there's a good chance the car will track or dog leg to some extent. Insist that they replace the car. It's their clients fault. If not for him/her, you wouldn't own a wrecked car and you didn't spend that kind of money to own a messed up car (even if fixed). I don't think you'll have a lot to worry about. They should total it. I'm just glad you're in better shape then the car. EDIT: I looked at the pics again after I posted. You're getting another car. If they try to fix it, get a lawyer. That car is not fixable. It's structure (the unibody) is bent in multiple places. The giveaway is the roof. If you get to the lawyer point, tell them you're not making payments to own a rebuilt car. Yeah, I'd say it's totalled. The front and rear of the car look like they're no longer trying to go the same direction.

Damn! I hate it when people intentionally run red lights. Yesterday as I was coming to a stop at the light, the guy behind me didn't want to stop and got in to the left turn only lane and sped ahead running the red light.
