Regardless of scale, I like how Thunderwing turned out. Though I got to say I love to see a 3rd party company like Fans Project build parts to make Generations Thunderwing look how he did in the IDW StormBringer mini-series in both Alt and Bot mode.

    Edit:
Here's the comic art on the designs I refer to.

Speaking of the drone. I wish that thing can do more than just attach to Thunderwing. Like be a gun or attach to the other to his missle launchers.

I also would like that quad-gun he had in the Marvel run of the comics.

If a third party wants to take you up on that, they might as well go ahead and make a transformable version of the drone too.

Might make for a good set.

I'm working in a 3D CAD of a transformable drone. It's proving to be quite difficult. It's about too small to sturdy. Make it large enough to be sturdy, and it's too big for Thunderwing.

Hell yes! Been saying that since I picked him up. He makes the most sense for an upgrade kit next.

This may be a point that making a full set of armour could improve. The drone could then mount somewhere inside the armour and possibly also pull it like starsabre when thundewing isnt attached

This could also make for a starsabre repaint which would be amazing

I'd DEFINITELY buy Stormbringer armor for TW. That would be awesome.

I'd buy it too if it was really cool. I'm sure it's a good possibility for a future release.

An upgrade armor for Thunderwing would be fucking badass, especially if he served as the inner bot. :lol

That really does seem like a damn good idea. I'd really be surprised if FP or some other 3rd party doesn't end up picking up on that concept.
They could even do a black version for the Black shadow remold Hasbro is doing.

He reminds me of Energon Megatron. Maybe E Meg's bodyparts can be used as upgrade limbs for Thunderwing.

I'd love an upgrade armor set for Thunderwing too but I'd also be happy with a third party IDW styled Thunderwing with a built in ultra mode.

I'm unfamiliar with the armor and such from Stormbringer. Can anyone post a pic of it?

How complex are you aiming for? You could try reducing the number of parts. PCC Minicons have about 10 seperate parts. Older minicons have as much as twenty. G1 Targetmasters often had as little as two.

I still wish Hasbro had at least given us something. If it was my decision, I would've left out the missile-firing gun accesories for the sake of a really basic transforming drone.

Gingerchris posted some awesome suggestions in the feedback thread to give an idea what it might've been like if Hasbro'd really gone all out on this figure.

The problem is, it has to be complex enough to turn into a jet like vehicle and a robot while being articulate enough to contort to fit into the chest. I have a design in my head, but the parts are just too small to be sturdy. Make them larger, and it won't fit in the chest any longer.
