Indeed. But sadly some people just cannot separate the two things in their mind.

I want a huge flamboyant gay to direct the next Transformers movie. :)

That would be interesting. Perhaps he would make a gay Transformer? I wonder how the fans would react to that, I wouldn't mind it.

Nor I. Considering the outcry over just the issue of fembots though, I imagine the fandom would utterly implode if there was ever a confirmed homosexual Transformer. Gender is hard enough to have people accept, so gender-bending would be a real challenge indeed.

Fanbases have one huge problem, they don't really want to except change.

I suppose with this subject it depends on if it's outside their comfort zone with regards to their everyday beliefs.

Well if they changed the leader of the Autobots to like let's say...Bulkhead that would probably cause an outrage.

Chromedome and Rewind seem to be pretty well accepted. They aren't actually "male", but they still look like a gay couple.

A flamboyantly "gay" robot on the other hand could stir up a shitstorm if not portrayed respectfully, though.

    It was a general observation.

But if I did want to be presumptuously answery at any point on a particular subject I would anyway if it needed it. Especially if a comment made was vague and open to certain interpretations.

Anyway, I still want Edgar Wright as director. And Simon Pegg as Buster. And Nick Frost as 'O'. :p

The real problem most seem to be having with Singer isn't that he's a gay man, but that he might be a sex offender.

You know the funny thing, apparently before the Transformers movies Bay had always been a fairly big practical effects guy too.

Singer is only a good idea if you're part of the 99% of the rest of the planet who wants a director that actually pays attention to and somewhat respects original source material to take on your favorite franchise. But as we know all too well by now, Bay is in and caters to the other 1% that can't be bothered to worry about those pesky little details, so 4 movies in, there's really no need to suddenly switch to a good director.

Well...Thats debatable. I've heard plenty X-men fans talk about how they don't care for the movies in terms to respecting the source material.

Althoguh, when it comes to plot and character development, Singer, as a directer, is probably at least bertter at that then Bay is.

I really enjoyed DOFP, but I'm not sure that Singer is necessarily the right person for Transformers.

I'd definitely like Bay to be done after TF4, and then reboot.

My biggest hope would be for Disney to just buy Hasbro, and then let Marvel Studios take a crack at Transformers.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost could have voiced Skids and Mudflap and made them fan favorites for life.

    Okay, well... good. :inquisiti

    anyway :)

I like the edgar Wright idea!! Frost and Pegged would have to be Icecream Skids and Mudflap, on their search for the all-cornetto!!

I'm not opposed to him being there to create an action sequence for Blurr.
