Have you listened to how he talks about his movies? He acts like they're god damn masterpieces.

I can't say I disagree with the thought because I thought DOFP was one of the best comic book based movies I've seen in a while. So your opinion isn't bad, we will never know I can pretty much garentee we won't have a director in the Transformer chair in the future who is of Nolan / Singer crowd. These movies have now been stereotyped as "action no plot"

But I don't blame Bay, he has made some really outstanding films in my eyes The Rock and Pain and Gain are two of my favorites. Bay was asked to do TF1 and he was persuaded he thought it was dumb. So if anyone is to blame for what bothers the fanbase it should be Spielberg who recruited Bay, and at one point didn't even want the Autobots to speak.

Bay was hired to make a Bay movie and he did that, not his fault if he sticks around cause he is making sick amounts of money. I have problems with the Transformers franchise but I can't blame Bay he did what he was hired to make a Michael Bay movie.

Singer loves X men in general he loves the message they stand for and that's why his films are more praised among the fanbase.

Michael Bay went through "transformers school" before shooting the first film, I am not the least bit surprised with what we got. However AOE looks great so far and I hope Bay has grown to love the franchise

Why do people limit themselves to "del Toro, Cameron, Jackson" ?

Folks, there are other directors out there.

Meh, the people you named wouldn't be able to do it well, not their style really. I'd go with Neil Blomkamp, it would be straight up his alley.

When I was watching Days of Future Past the whole time I was thinking, "Singer has become basically no better than Michael Bay." This would be very little change except we would lose Bay's poor taste for a dated early 2000's sense of poor taste.

    Have you seen their movies?

Edit: Jackson and Cameron might not be proper fits though, del Toro is a more proper fit.

Not sure why people only go with directors who have done large films already. As much as I've enjoyed the Peter Jackson films I don't know if he'd be a good fit for Transformers just because Jackson was a good fit for Lord of the Rings. Plus King Kong showed that even a good director who loves the source material will not always make a great film.

I'd like for some new director, director who it's that well know, or a director branching out into a wider range of films get a shot at Transformers. If you never give new directors a chance they will never become the old masters.

This all the way. I like his movies and feel that he's the best one to finish off this trilogy.

I'm happy with Bay's movies, they are entertaining.

Edit: Also considering how Michael Bay was the one willing to take on the challenge, I think he should continue.
