MY local Toys R Us has a Transformers display case showcasing Cybertron Optimus Prime vs. King Starscream. There's an art background that shows a horizon of Planet Cybertron. I asked one of the employees if it's for sale and he said no. Now, employees don't always have the correct info so how can I manage to obtain this set piece as I need it for a short Transformers film? I know there has to be a way.
I'd check eBay. At least at the local TRU, the employees often take the displays and try to sell them.
Ask the manager of the store. Employees sometimes don't know or could be trying to save it for themselvs. It is possible the manager will offer it for free when the store is done displaying it.
Also, since I think that's one of those objects that is just part of the store's bill, you might be able to offer money for it when they tear it down/destroy it/etc.
I was gonna offer $25 for ours (CD Hotshot, CD shattershot, 2 scrapmetal, galvatron) but everything was covered in hot glue...
Most, if not all, have their joints glued into position, so they're worthless as toys... still cool for display, I suppose.
Better than having the figures fall over when kids or teens jostle the display case. Then they'd have to reset the figures after closing time.
