Similar to Harry Potter, I would think the Transformers franchise might benefit from fresh new directors every so often. Transformers is, after all, about change.

    Michael Bay all the way!...

It's like when you read a comic book with the first part drawn by one artist and the second part by another... It just isn't the same...

I do hope the producers stay around for the sequel though, they brought a lot to the table too...

While I'm certainly deeply impressed by what I've seen so far, I'll still wait until after the movie's out to judge whether mr Bay should return or not.

It can go either way with me. Really, if you want to develop the mythos, you need to look at the script and more so, the producers. They will guide the direction of the movie by choosing the writers, directors, ext. They have full veto power over the director. If you want the movie to develop more, look to the producers.

Well let's see how the movie goes before we start talking about a sequel. I mean considering Bays poor choices about this movie, where I stand now, I'm still pretty sure this little flick is going to suck. But we'll see.

Michael Bay. People are going to like this movie. If it is really successful, then it shows the general population loves them. Changing to a new director will no doubt produce a movie inconsistent with the first, and people won't take to it as well.

Ha! I can see you're not very excited about that thought. I know they're writing the sequel right now. But I was under the impression that it's just in case this one is a hit. I don't think they can make sequels untill it's determined this one is a hit or not.

Wow thats BS. Investors do everything based on market analysis. In a world where time is everything ... wasting time is wasting money. If they determine, that based on research and analysis, that they will make money within specific margins, they won't waste time in working on the next movie. This isn't just one person saying ... "gee you know, lets just wait, feel it out, and see what happens ok?" In the real world risks are taken. The fact they are already signing actors/actresses up shows that they are already making the moves for the next movie.

As opposed to Michael Bay directing a Transformers movie?

At least Tim Burton would get the whole "people relating to these strange creatures" feel down. He'd give the film a real larger than life feel that I think would be very cool.

Yeah, because there's nothing larger than life in a typical Bay film. :rolleyes2

Are you serious? Burton's a terrible choice. I can see it now: replace Prime's flames with a black and white checkered pattern and have all the bots animated by stop motion maquettes.
