Toys R Us had the following in stock: (1)Jazz (1)Ark (1)Primal (1)Megatron(C) (3)Starscream (2)Sideswipe Realizing the preorder for Ark was sold out at BBTS, I almost bought that. But honestly, I see absolutely nothing special about it. It's not sculpted to bear any specific significance to anything. Wanting a G1 Tit, my obvious choice was Jazz. He has vertical articulation in the shoulders, and lateral articulation in the ankles. It looks like his hips ought to be able to move, but they don't. Neither does the head. The feet and torso are metal. The head, doors/back, and limbs are plastic. I generally like the sculpting and color and they even put the old stripes on him. Considering the size I have absolutely no issues there. There is a peg hole on the bottom of his foot, but no peg on the stand. And my stand has a black mark on it, argh. Overall I don't feel ripped off, but it doesn't have the special feeling one gets from the tremendously sculpted(and heavier) Star Wars ones. The hunched over position takes the most away from it. If they had made his hips moveable, that wouldn't be an issue. Grade B.
I picked up the Ark when I saw it. I understand that the titaniums do make some use of plastic, but out of the five I have (BSG Viper & Raider, SW X-Wing & Tie Fighter), The Ark by far uses more plastic than any of the others. More than all of them put togeather, in fact. And the color of the plastic is notably a different shade from the color of the paint on the diecast part. Also, unlike the nice wide and squat stands that the others came with, the Ark's stand is tall and very narrow at it's base. A good knock to what ever it's standing on, and over it goes. I'd assumed that it was going to connect to the large Autobot symbol that it came with and use that for a base (there is a peg hole on the bottem of the stand), but this was not the case.
hehe, I think we are gonna have to figure out a new abbreviation for this one, I dont want half the threads showing up in google with tit at the end
Although ironically, if you type 'tfw2005 tits' into google, the hits aren't in reference to Titaniums. It's mostly Smeg's fault.
