I thought Hasbro reissue Soundwave was the Soundblaster mold

It could be just a mockup using a regular Soundwave. All test shots indicate that he'll have the SB doors. If he doesn't, well, anything's possible.

    Yeah, confused me, too.

    Especially since it's been half/half.

Box says it's the original mold and also says "Lazerbeak OR Ravage"

But the prototypes were of the Soundblaster mold.

    The mind explodes.

Supposedly someone on the botcon hasbro panel stated they havevn't decided single or double taped version, so it could go either way.

Ehh... but I thought the whole marketing schtick behind this reissue was that he now holds 2 tapes, not just 1. Releasing the original with only 1 tape would be a huge slap in the face, especially after the initial press release and Botcon mock-up packaging indicating it holds 2.

Look up two posts. Remove the "supposedly", because that was indeed said.

From what I saw of the mock up, the original mold was in the box, but all of the packaging art said it could hold two tapes. If the reissue does hold two tapes, it would have to be the SB mold, otherwise they would have to do some major retooling on SW to get them to fit in (and get them out again).Unfortunately, I missed the Hasbro panel, so I can't verify what was said there, and I didn't see a release date listed by the mock up. Did Hasbro mention a possible date during the panel discussion?

Actually it says "Laserbeak [with "s", yes? Pleaaaaase. :)  ] or BUZZSAW", so I wouldn't count on this packaging being a 100% clear indication of the final version.

(for that matter, Classics Grimlock's packaging also identifies Jetfire as "Astrotrain")

Does it really matter if he has double or single tape deck what matters is they are releasing Soundwave again and that is only thing that matters when it comes down to it.

To me it does. If re-issue Soundwave can only hold one cassette, I'll have no reason to purchase one. A Soundwave made from a Soundblaster mold would be a good collectable. Much the same way the changes in Takara's re-issue Starscream made it worth buying.

It's not the deciding factor whether I buy it or not, but I just want to know. We were shown test shots with the double door. Then at Botcon, they show one with the single door. I'm certainly not bitching, I just want clarification. But apparently, Hasbro is still undecided.
