I think we'll get extended scenes with robots in it. What do you want?

Why do I think this? Because I don't recall Optimus saying "you made a grave mistake". This means that this was cut out. If we get extended scenes I'm sure this could be one of them.

What else would you mind being extended (that is possible and not unlikely).

I would like the talk with Optimus and Sentinel to be be extended. If felt kind of rushed and frankly a little pointless. They drive and talk for 30 seconds. Although I would have liked the Deception scene is Africa to be longer I doubt that it was cut at all.

    No.

Rendering and animating the robots is incredibly expensive and time-consuming. They make sure if a scene incuding them is edited or removed, it's well before the actual robot models are put in.

Huh, you're right - they DID take out the "you've made a grave mistake" line. I never noticed.

Unfortunately, this goes back to what I have said before. It's not so much that we'll get extended scenes in the Ultimate Edition, but more so that we'll just get back all the scenes that we saw in theaters but were cut out of the initial home release. Basically they just cut stuff out of the first BR/DVD so that they could "cleverly" put it back in and accurately hype the next home release(s) as being so-called extended featuring more footage. Kind of a shithead move on the studios part, but it is what it is.

I think we might get scenes with unfinished animation, specifically for the Twins.

Well, the "grave mistake" line mentioned above... the intro scene of Carly walking up the stairs was apparently edited down a bit... supposedly a couple of battle scenes were edited... small stuff like that. I'm not sure exactly what got cut or edited for the first BD/DVD release, but other people have mentioned numerous things over the past few weeks.

I just have a good feeling that the studios chopped a bit of stuff here & there solely so they can re-release everything as special/ultimate/collectors/etc. editions while touting the bonus of extended scenes/footage. They've done it before with other movies, so I don't see how they won't do it with the TF stuff. It's basic marketing 101.

Funny thing, the "grave mistake" line was cut, but the scene itself is still in the movie (with different dialogue)

As DOTM is now the 4th highest grossing film, I think they would be ass holes not to make every deleted scene.
If that's true, I'm going back to my decision not to see the 4th film.

The grave mistake line was never in the movie. I noticed that on my first watch.

Don't know about the rest being cut down either. I think people are just remembering the initial stair walk to be longer then it is. No idea on whether or not the battle scenes were cut short, but that seems highly unlikeable as well.

And guys, don't count on new footage. They didn't do it for TF1, they didn't do it for ROTF, and even with a one billion dollar box office they won't do it for this. The best you can hope for is a brief look at the animatics, which hopefully won't be cut short this time around. If it DOES happen, it will be for a special edition waaay down the line, or maybe an additional IMAX release, but even that has little chance of happening.

I actually think that was just editing for the trailers. I remember ROTF had Skids saying "It's upgrade time" in the trailer when in actuality he said "That's Cybertronian"

You know I actually forgot that the forest battle was extended in the Imax version. I saw that version while all my viewings after where standard so I forgot until I watched it on youtube. The extended version is miles better.

That's what I'm thinking. And maybe some scenes with their alt modes.
