for the unreleased DOTM toys. The history showed us that discontinuing a line doesn't mean the figures won't get a release.

This'll work by either releasing a subline, or combining it with a current line.

Another examples are Beast Machines toys like Air Attack Optimus Primal and Megatron Megabolt that were released as part of the Robots In Disguise (Car Robots) line

Who knows. Maybe the cancelled Movie Trilogy line and the final wave will make it via Prime or Generations. I won't mind which line it will be. I just want the promised figures without paying $100+ for them.

The problem this time around is that the Movie characters are under a joint-license with Paramount, and thus, Hasbro isn't as free to shuffle them around as with other figures. They can't just sneak them into Generations or something, it needs to be a Movie-branded line.

And with retailers taking a pass on the Movie Trilogy sub-line as well...

Any Dino/Mirage toy, that isn't either the speed star or the Cyberverse repaint of Sideways, do not exist.

All your examples were initially released then re-released. How's that the same as never released and then released?

    Even Primal and Megatron?

Plus, it's not like the figures were never released like some Animated figures. There are releases, but not outside Japan or Asia.

I'm actually happy to see Hasbro's move on canceling HA Soundwave. Don't get me wrong I WANT that Soundwave BAD. I'm happy cause they're moving on to things I want even more.

    Yes I agree with Wyvern.

    OP your avatar is hilarious.

Just be patient. For all we know TF4 might just be a ploy to get Leadfoot and co. released. :p

Most likely they'll be released in RID, there's no mention of Prime so it's fair game.

Odds are they get released in the early waves of TF4 as "filler" figures ala Tumer Mudflap & Skids...no doubt only to have new TF4 characters get cancelled at the end of THAT line :p

ugh. Please...I hope to hell that movie toys NEVER get into Generations. That's the only place you can go to get away from the movie aesthetic. Seriously, what more do you want? There's a new movie coming out in 2014, and I'm sure as hell that Soundwave, Que and Leadfoot will be released in there. Let's NOT get these silly ideas that Movie toys NEED to be in Generations. I don't care much for Prime but I don't want to see movie toys in the Prime line either.

You could just... not buy movieish toys in generations packaging?

Don't get me wrong, I don't care much about what happens to these molds, but I don't get this attitude.

Because movie toys would displace Classics characters I would get? Three movie toys means three Classicsverse updates that won't happen because of the movie toys. THAT'S why it bothers me.

It doesn't have to be like that. Besides, these molds are already done, they don't have to usurp another toy's place. Toy waves aren't always the same size.

It doesn't work like that. Especially not with toys that have already been produced. If they were included it wouldn't be like "well, we have the R&D to make three new toys, but they lost spots to those alreayd produced ones." They'd plan them into later waves. If anything they'd take the spots from potential redecoes.

Maybe the deluxes, but no chance at the ha soundwave. Dotm never saw the re-release of ha mudflap after the next to impossible to find rotf mudflap.

That's the point that's still worrying. What if it's a redeco that would've been good?

Ultimately my point is that yes, it SUCKS that three movie toys haven't been released...but give Classicsverse guys a break. We've sat through three years of movies and seen Classics just trickle in. With 2013 being a big Generations year, I think it's only fair that we see Classicsverse figures in. It's not like movie toy fans aren't ever going to get another movie, with more movie toys.

I was OK with Classics figures in Reveal The Shield since it was effectively the movie continuation line, but Generations has ALWAYS been Classicsverse. It's the continuation of the line of Classics and Universe 2.0. I just don't want to see any movie stuff in Generations. It's just time to put the movie stuff on hold and focus on something else for a change.
