Is it just me, or are some thread topics popping up in twos in this forum?

We have two Sentinel betrayal topics and two "Shockwave dissapointed me" topics.

If you are refering to the dead robots in the Ark, then those were Autobots. It's hard to tell but the Ark was an Autobot ship and as far as I know no cons boarded the ship. Which is curious, were the Autobots in the Ark traitors as well? Or did they have no idea that Sentinel was betraying them?

Choice of weapons is a poor way to determine a characters alliance.

    Oh come the fu*k on.
First of all, it's not the same weapon. A double bladed weapon does not immediately entail Darth Maul. Esepcially since one is A FUGGING LIGHTSABER and the other is a broadside SWORD.
And even if they were the same weapon, which they are not, how the hell does the weapon have anything whatsoever to do with his allegiance?
And why on earth would they connect him to darth maul by way of weapon choice, just for the sake of foreshadowing his betrayal?
Good God. You cannot possibly be serious. Are you? Are you serious?

From my understanding, it was implied everybody on the Ark were Autobots and most likely died during the escape from Cybertron or the crash landing on the moon. Even Sentinel did not survive, since we probably would have seen some kind of movement from him before Optimus jammed the Matrix into Sentinel's chest. I was under the impression the whole POINT of the Cons baiting the Autobots to go to the moon was so they could find, retrieve, and resurect the guy who could work the Spacebridge, because they had the friggin' Matrix and only that could resurect a dead Prime. And no, the whole "zooming into Sentinel's eyes" thing at the beginning doesn't count as proof of Sentinel's survival, since I'm pretty sure "TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON" is not written in giant block letters in some black space inside his head.

As for judging Sentinel as a bad guy because he as a double-ended sword weapon, that's utterly stupid reasoning. Yes, Darth Maul had a double-ended Lightsaber, but it functioned as an entirely different weapon. Not to mention the fact his face looks like a mix of Kratos and Hellraiser AND the fact "Darth" isn't a title used by anybody but the bad guys is kind of a bigger hint Darth Maul is a baddie.

Personally, what should have been setting off alarms was the fact we didn't get a single Decepticon leader in DOTM. We might have been thrown off by Shockwave, allegedly the main bad guy, getting The Fallen treatment with his biggest toy being a voyager, but Hasbro has always released at least one bad guy as a Leader class, even before the movies. Of the three Leaders, Bumblebee and Ironhide were obviously good guys, but Sentinel? His bio is oddly a little too broad in describing him, instead talking about the impression the other Autobots have of his "return" rather than the actual robot inside the package. And if he's such a great leader, why is his courage rating on the TechSpec only an 8 instead of a 10?

Do I see the similarities? Yes, a double-end(ed?) weapon. Is that a visual cue to foreshadow something? No. That sort of weapon belonging to two antagonists is merely a coincidence. Nothing more. Unless we want to start the stupid trolling responses of "Optimus has feet! Just like Luke Skywalker! He's totally the protagonist!" and the like. :p

    So, non-villains can't wield double-bladed weapons? Absurd.
