Has it ever happened to anyone else where, you leave a figure in one mode for so long, that you forget how to transform it back into it's other mode(s).

For example, this happened to me this evening. I decided to fiddle around with Revenge of the Fallen voyager Mixmaster, and when I got around to transforming him, it took a good fifteen minutes to figure out how to position his legs properly so they'd fit inside the truck's cab.

So, share your experiences of forgetfulness.

I had that recently with ROTF Swerve and Dead End (placeholders for Dead End and Wildrider. I had to turn to the instructions. I've also had that happen to me with Big Convoy (the Mammoth), but it's pretty rare.

Usually for me, it's not so much "forgetting" as it is "remembering in the wrong order". I'll remember the major bits, and muscle-memory essentially takes over and plummets me forward, only to hit a brick wall when I suddenly remember that there was that other little thing that I needed to do first, which is why I have this complete mess in my hands instead of a neatly contortioned robot.

Once I slow my brain back down again, I'm good.

Ironically, I just had the same problem with Mixy a while ago. :lol

And with Long Haul- couldn't get his legs all aligned right in the front of the truck.

Even though most combiners are usually meant to be assembled in a variety of ways, a lot of us including myself like to stick with whatever packaging or animation depiction that we consider the "default."

I can remember which bots become arms or legs, but I'm often lost when it comes to left or right.

I currently can't remember which figure gets the shoulder wheels forward or to the sides between Classics Wheeljack and Tracks. I'd feel less dumb if I hadn't intentionally looked it up once before.

Heh. I generally do the same. I found it kinda clever that when Hasbro released RotF Bruticus Maximus, they managed to find an arrangement that allowed each of the Combaticons to retain their original positions.

God help me with Superion, though. The fact that his limbs are all virtually identical doesn't really help with the memory thing.

Tracks is forward, Wheeljack is sides.

It helps if you've even owned either of their G1 toys, of course.

While I've never had a situation where I outright forgot a transformation, there have been many circumstances of me forgetting small transformation details on toys, specifically from the first movie line (those weird feet spikes on Deluxe Barricade, or the weird kibbley bits on Bonecrusher's arms come to mind) or precise orders of steps with toys like ROTF Rampage.

This is exactly what came to mind - specifically his arms going from robot to car - I can never remember how to position them properly.

I pretty much did the same thing after trying to transform mine a couple of times... Never should have taken it out of vehicle mode. Now I find pieces of Mixmaster here and there in boxes all over.

Thanks! Never had G1 Wheeljack in any form and Tracks reissue has been boxed up for 10 years after transforming it a few times. I'll remember now...probably!

Speaking of the Energon Combiners, I haven't actually combined them or done much at all with them since shortly after getting them. This is partly because I know I won't remember. The torso bots, especially.

Happened to me once with Armada Unicron a long time ago, when I couldn't get his head to fit when I closed the planet halves. Turned out his head horns actually swivel fowards a bit to just get inside the halves. No way in hell I would have figured that out (thought they were static after so long) without consulting the instructions.

I haven't forgotten any yet. Oh and off topic, but I lost my ALT Tracks a while back, and I still remember how to Transform him.

I normally don't memorize most transformations, but the ones that are the hardest to recall are definitely bayformers.

I usually transform them once (twice if they come packaged in robot mode), so I forget all the time.
Worst example is the Animated seeker mold, I just hate transforming that thing, mostly because of the arms and things popping off all the time.
